Westboro Baptists and other low-lifes

Posted by Troy on 17th December 2012 in Current Events, Political

First of all, the Westboro Baptist church members need their asses kicked as they are protesting the funerals of the dead children at Sandy Hook.  Several people in the past cautioned at becoming “overly civilized.”  I think we’ve reached that point.  There is no way in hell that people in the 1950s would have put up with this crap.  Freedom of speech is one thing, but this goes far too far.  Your speech has consequences.  No one in their right mind would go to Harlem and start yelling the N-word.  Why?  Because they would be beaten or killed.  Do they have the freedom of speech?  Yes, but we all know that there are levels of provocation.  If you are seeking to provoke someone, you reap what you sow.  This is not to demean the freedom of speech but merely to state the unspoken obvious: what you say has an effect on others and may elicit a response.  Freedom of speech is against the government, not against other citizens.  The government cannot discriminate against you just because you are critical of the government.  If you are critical of someone, they will probably discriminate against you in retaliation.

I also want to chastise the media.  They tell us that we should help the victims of Sandy Hook.  How?  There is no property damage.  Not all the money in the world could replace what was taken, nor would any parent have traded their child for all the money in the world even if there were left alive.  No, there is nothing that can be done except to stop talking about it.  Allow them to grieve and move on with their lives.  However, they will not let them do that.  The media loves plastering the pictures of the victims and the killer all over television because it’s great for ratings.  It’s so sensational.  Politicians are loving turning this tragic event into gun control propaganda.  I wonder if when they first heard about the shootings if their first thoughts weren’t about the poor children or the motives for such a senseless crime.  Instead, they probably thought about how great their ratings were going to be or how they could get their precious legislation passed.

I don’t believe that people are going to call for gun control any more than those who already do.  People have made up their minds on that issue.  I believe that most people understand that this was an isolated actions of a madman.  I should never wish to give away our freedoms at each such offense.  Millions the world round have suffered due to the Communist Manifesto.  Obviously, we should not have freedom of speech as what we write or say may cause the deaths of millions of innocent women and children.  See how this works?

Peppered Protesters

Everyone’s all upset that the cops sprayed the protesters.  Let me tell you something, when dealing with Leftists, you have to ask yourself “What happened right before the clip they’re showing me?”  Remember, the communists want to tear down the system by “Any means possible.”  The fact of the matter is that the cops tore down the tents and were trying to leave.  The protesters surrounded them.  The cops told them to let them through or they were going to get sprayed.  They then sat down and prepared to be sprayed as they knew they could put it on YouTube and idiots would see it and take their side.  You’re being mislead.  Be careful around these people.

What Wall Street Protesters Have Right?

Posted by Troy on 19th October 2011 in Current Events

This is yet another article by the mainstream media portraying this bunch of wackos as salt of the earth people.  I will deal with Michael Brush’s arguments promptly.

1)  The growing disparity between the rich and the poor.  See my discussion on Wealth Redistribution from two days ago for a full discussion.  However, let’s use a simple example.  We have a a restaurant owner and a guy who makes hamburgers.  The guy that makes hamburgers likes to have an iphone with data, cable TV with HBO, and other niceties.  The restaurant owner worked like a dog, saved, and bought the restaurant that now pays the hamburger maker.  The economy grows.  The restaurant makes more money.  The restaurant owner buys another restaurant.  Now, the hamburger maker is still making about the same.  Why?  Because a hamburger is a hamburger.  The value of his services did not increase.  Also, he spent all his money on worthless crap instead of investing it.  Meanwhile, the restaurant owner’s income has doubled because he now has two businesses instead of one.  In addition, he has hired a second hamburger maker who happens to save his money and invests it.  Who knows, maybe hamburger maker number 2 will own his own restaurant one day.  The fact of the matter is that we used to be a nation of savers.  Now we spend every dime we earn.  And it’s all on worthless crap.  Look around your life.  How much of what you buy really is needed?

2)  The banking system needs reforming.  Well, duh.  The Federal Reserve is a bad system.  Well, duh.  End the Fed!  Okay, well, what do you want to replace it with.  uhhhhhh….  Most of them haven’t thought that all the way through.  If they have an answer, it would be to either replace it with a global currency (we’ll ignore the disaster of the Euro here) or to go back to the gold standard.  Okay, so we go to the gold standard.  Countries with fiat money will buy dollars and then redeem the dollars for gold.  This of course would absolutely bankrupt and destroy us in quick order.  I would hazard the best we can do at this point in the game is to link the money supply to the value of gold where $1,000 will buy 1 ounce of gold.  Even that would have problems, but it’s literally the best you can do with the rest of the world using fiat money.

3)  Crony capitalism destroys democracy.  Well, true.  However, I don’t see any campaign finance reform signs out there.

These people are backed by crazy left wing nut jobs.  Over 30% of them think that violence is okay.  This is because Revolutionaries think the system needs to be destroyed by any means possible.  These protests are going to end in violence, and it is what they want.
