The Ferguson Tragedy

Posted by Troy on 25th November 2014 in Current Events

Oh, the tragedy.

There could be no real surprise.  They knew at 1:00 PM what the verdict was and they waited until 9:45 PM to announce it.  I already knew what it was.  The weaselly politicians would have run out the door screaming “He’s been indicted!  He’s been indicted!” if he had been.  It would have been like the end of It’s a Wonderful Life.  I would have announced it and then dealt with it in the light of day.  It’s easier to hit a target in the daylight.  Also, I would fear for the safety of people while they slept.  At least give them the opportunity to defend themselves.

What amazes me is how people completely ignore any personal choices by Michael Brown.  If you listen to his supporters, Brown was guilty of WWBB (Walking While Being Black).  They ignore the thuggery.  That’s just boys will be boys fun.  They ignore punching the cop.  This was a big guy.  Eighteen or not, I would have hated to been hit by him.

And so the race baiters and the riot waiters and the looters all called for Wilson’s head.  Do you think if Wilson was charged with anything else or was found innocent or didn’t get the death penalty that the end result would have been any different?  The orders were thus: “Charge, convict, and execute Officer Wilson, or we will riot.”  Thank God the citizens of Ferguson held true and voted with honesty of fairness.  How could there be any justice if they had voted to indict merely out of fear of a riot?  Far better that the city burn to the ground than to do that.

Do they not realize that such a demand is no different than how whites treated blacks back in the 1800s and early 1900s?  When an allegation of raping a white girl would cause a lynch mob to demand the death without due process?  It is the same.  It is mob rule.  It is the rule of emotion and not of reason.

And how sad is that that the bar has been set so low?  Was anyone shocked at all?  Did anyone expect them NOT to riot?  Not to turn to crime and destruction?  We write it off as “Oh, they are poor.  They have no other way to be heard.”  Hell no!  In this day and age?  With the internet?  With smart phones and Twitter and Facebook and the Blogesphere?  With all of this at their disposal, the only way they can be heard is through lawlessness?  I refuse to set that bar so low.  There are poor people that support Officer Wilson.  Would people have been shocked if THEY rioted if he was indicted?  I bet it would have shocked people.  We allow people to act like animals, nothing better than animals.  And why?  Because we are afraid to call them out on it for fear of being called racist.  That is bull.  How is expecting such behavior from blacks NOT the racist thought?  I expect better.  I demand better.  Human dignity demands it.  Self-respect demands it.  Respect for their community demands it.  When people act like animals, how can your respect them?

So what do the good people of Ferguson do?  How do they react to “injustice?”  They torch buildings of the innocent.  They torch their own town.  The loot and rob and plunder.  They fire guns at people that had nothing to do with any of it.  I’m sure that makes them look better in the eyes of public opinion.  All they accomplish is to run more and more businesses out of town.  They destroy their own employers and supplies.  They destroy their own communities.  As the communities die, the opportunities for their offspring die.  And what is left?  At best, an existence of sucking on the government teat and at worst, crime and an early death such as Michael Brown.

That’s the real tragedy.

Brown got what he had coming.  He might have turned his life around.  He might have become an upstanding citizen or a father or a scientist.  Or he might have become just any other thug.  Boys will be boys be damned.  The downside of acting like a thug is that someone may end up killing you.  Most anyone would have made the same decision as Officer Wilson.  After taking a punch from this guy, seeing him turn around and advance upon you, you would do what is instinctively right.  You would defend yourself.  You wouldn’t even notice the color his skin.  The outcome would have been exactly the same if Michael Brown was white.

Now we get to listen to the President talk about how he is disappointed in the citizens of Ferguson, acting as though they are sulking children and not rioting criminals.  We will get to listen to excuses.  We will hear that it was an injustice that Officer Wilson wasn’t indicted.  Query: what kind of justice is it when the decision is forgone?  At least Officer Wilson testified for hours.  If he worked for Obama, he would have just pled the Fifth.

Obama’s Watergate

Posted by Troy on 20th June 2012 in Current Events, Political

Obama is exerting Executive Privilege on the Fast and the Furious.  So this leads to a few options:

1) There is soooo nothing there.  This would be a Machiavellian scheme whereby Obama convinces the Republicans that there is something there, but there really isn’t, but they don’t know that, so they keep searching, and they look like total idiots when it turns out that there is nothing really there.

Analysis from Swamp Fox?  He ain’t that slick.  Honestly, I’d feel better if he WAS that slick, but he’s not.

2)  Eric Holder was lying when he said that Obama didn’t know anything about Fast and the furious.

Analysis:  Executive Privilege only applies to direct communications with the President.  Eric Holder said that he did not talk about Fast and Furious with the President.  If he lied under oath, that means that Eric Holder is guilty of perjury.  Eric Holder has effectively hung himself.

3)  Eric Holder was telling the truth.

Analysis:  Executive Privilege does not apply.  As I said, it only works with direct communications with the President.  As such, Holder is screwed either way.

Watergate started off as a break-in to a hotel wherein Nixon’s agents stole information relating to the Democrat’s election strategies.  If Nixon had let his underlings take the fall, he would have walked away unscathed.  Where he went wrong is that he tried to cover for his underlings and became further and further embroiled in the issue.  Amazingly, Obama has failed to learn from history.  What he should have done is told Holder to step down or take the fall for him.  When he wins his second term or before he leaves office, he would pardon Holder, but that will not happen now.  Now Obama has stuck himself in the trap, the same as Nixon did.  Obama has called full attention to a story that the mainstream media had largely ignored.  There is no way that this ends well for him (unless option 1 turns out to be true).

Fast and Furious is way more important than Watergate.  However, this will not end in the same way as it did for Nixon for two reasons.  The first is that the media loves Obama and has bent over backwards to protect him since the 2008 election.  The second is that the Democrats control the Senate.  As long as that happens, Obama cannot be impeached.  He has used the Constitution as toilet paper since day one, but the Democrats will never call him out on it.  But it can destroy his bid for re-election.

Eric Holder will Resign

Posted by Troy on 18th June 2012 in Current Events

I have been predicting that Eric Holder will resign, and I will keep saying this as well.  I know that he is trying to hold on until the elections (one way or another) in order not to hurt Obama’s campaign, but I believe that outrage will continue to grow.  Eventually, not even the mainstream media can continue to ignore the scandal.  Now 17,000 border control agents have grouped together to call for his resignation.  I think that he is going to buckle soon.  The amount of stress he must be feeling is incredible.  It would be hard enough if he was telling the truth, but keeping a lie of this magnitude going when it is clear everyone knows you’re lying must be unbearable.  I don’t think he can survive for five more months.

Bad Week for the Obama Administration

Eric Holder has less and less wiggle room as the investigation narrows down.  With what we know now, it is clear that he either lied about what he knew about the Fast and the Furious, or he is utterly incompetent.  There’s really no other excuse.  Now they have wiretapping request that specifically spell out what was going on, and they were signed off on.  This means that they either knew about Fast and the Furious or they are just signing stuff without actually reading it.  Which one of these options do you like best?  I don’t know how Holder still has his job, honestly.

Now even Democrats are starting to get upset with Obama over all the security leaks.  It is clear that someone is leaking this information trying to make Obama look good, but it is destroying our ability to take advantage of these tactics going forward.  He bragged about Seal Team Six and how we found Osama, and now our doctor friend is in jail for 38 years.  We’ve taken credit for shutting down Iran’s computers.  I for one liked them not knowing it was us.  Then there is this stupid kill list thing, which is a grey area.  Personally, I would think his supporters would be pissed over the kill list and it will backfire, but we will see.

Fast and Furious

Posted by Troy on 5th December 2011 in Current Events, Political

As I predicted, so it has come to pass.  Eric Holder will have to step down as Attorney General.  If he doesn’t, they will keep digging, and there can be only one answer:  The Feds let the guns walk to paint a narrative that private gun sales are leading to guns in the hands of criminals.  This would dovetail into the UN plan for a small arms bill, and would clamp down on private gun ownership.  However, they made one fatal mistake: they put the operation in the hands of the single most incompetent administration in the history of the country.  Seriously, they couldn’t get even this to work?  Of course, if they had, they would have told us the majority of Americans are in favor of the bill/treaty/ban, and in reality, the majority of Americans could care less.  Seriously, would anyone give up their freedoms because of something happening in any other country?  If so, they’re idiots and shouldn’t have a say anyway.

Prediction: Holder will step down

Posted by Troy on 11th October 2011 in Current Events, Political

The President no longer has both Houses looking out for him.  The Republicans are going to continue to chip away at this Fast and Furious thing.  They will come out at best looking totally incompetent or at worst pure evil.  The path will eventually lead to Obama.  Holder will have to step down prior to the election in an attempt to shield Obama during the election.
