Santa Fe Shooting: How To Stop School Shootings

Posted by Troy on 20th May 2018 in Current Events, Human Nature

As I said about Parkland…what if a kid comes in with a shotgun and a pistol?  Which is what happened this go around.   So let’s stop talking about the AR-15s.  The type of weapon is not the issue.

There are two main camps.

One group believes guns are the issue.  These people want a total gun ban.  They know they will not get this, and instead want to chip away at private gun ownership until they achieve this goal.

The other group realizes that incremental steps will do nothing to stop these types of attacks and realize that the end goal of the first group must, indeed, be a total gun ban.

The two groups will bicker back and forth.  The first group will accuse the second group of not caring if children die.  The second group will accuse the first group of using dead kids to advance their agenda of disarmament.

I could give a long defense of the Second Amendment, but I am going to bypass all of this nonsense and actually deal with the real issue on people’s minds:

How do we stop having dead kids?

1 – Regardless of what Hollywood and others in the entertainment industry (yes, including video games) want you to believe, the glorification of violence in modern day media, particularly the elevation of murderous criminals in such entertainment, makes hearts jaded.

2 – Facebook and other social media has shoved a false importance on fame.  Having your name plastered all over social media and the news is appealing to these killers, even if they know that it will be posthumously.

3 – All of these killers were picked on and ostracized.  Alone and depressed and angry, they pick up a gun and get their revenge (again, glorified in media) and get their fame (again, pushed by social media).

If you want to stop these incidents:

1 – Portray violence as it is: dirty and shameful and beneath human dignity–that which should only be undertaken as a last resort.

2 – Media should do a total blackout of these killers’ names.  Now, that’s almost impossible in this day and age.  Some 3rd tier news organization will cover the killer with the name, but all reputable  news organizations should agree to a total blackout of the names, removing the fame component of this.

3 – Parents need to teach their kids to treat others kindly at all times.  This goes for the killers and the other kids as well.  We don’t want to talk about it because it’s tantamount to blaming the victims, but there you go.  But prior to these attacks, those kids (the killers) were victims of harsh words, derision, and possibly even physical bullying.

Remember, these guns were around beforehand, and we did not have all these shootings.  It’s not the guns.  It’s the hearts.  Remember, the Founding Fathers said that only a moral people could be free, could govern themselves.  The answer is not to turn this country into a police state.  The answer is not to remove freedoms.  The answer is to return to morality.

Let’s Ban Knives Too

Posted by Troy on 27th March 2018 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

They asked a 13ish-year-old why he was marching for their lives.  He responded “My brother was shot.”

Okay, so if your brother was stabbed, shall we try to ban knives?

I know what you are going to say… “That… DIFFERENT!” which is pretty much the hallmark of someone that doesn’t have a good explanation for how they feel.

I think we can all agree that no one NEEDS a knife that is greater than 2″ in length.  With a little patience, a paring knife will do anything you need to do.  So why do we have to have this high capacity… sorry… longer knives?  For CONVENIENCE?  Because you  think it’s fun to cut huge swaths of meat?  YOU MAKE ME SICK!

Can we agree that personal tragedy is a stupid reason to make any legislation?  Every year, 20 babies fall into 5 gallon buckets and drown.  Do we make it a law that people have to bust these buckets in half or that they come with detachable bottoms to prevent such deaths?  Or do we accept that it’s a tragedy and feel sorry for the families that it happens to.

You may say, “You care more about your right to buy an AR-15 than about kids’s lives!”  But that is not the case.  I don’t want to ban the AR-15 because it wouldn’t really do anything.  If he couldn’t get an AR-15, he’d use shotguns and pistols or a host of other choices.  If guns were not available, a suicide vest or some other horrifying concepts would suffice.  So why should I give up my right when it will not accomplish ANYTHING?  Just to say “We did something!”  Yes… we did something useless and removed a right in the process.  That doesn’t seem a noble goal.  It seems more like an act of vanity than anything.

You say, “You have been brainwashed by the NRA!  They’re just a tool of the gun lobby!”  Nah.  I joined the NRA because I love and understand the 2nd Amendment and want it protected.  Frankly, if they are serving the gun lobby, I flat out don’t care.  All I care about is that the 2nd Amendment stay intact.  I didn’t embrace the 2nd Amendment because of the NRA.  I embraced the NRA because of the 2nd Amendment.  Get it straight.

You say, “We’re not talking about doing away with the 2nd Amendment!  We’re just walking about COMMON SENSE gun control.”  Well, most of what you call “common sense” actually wouldn’t solve a damn thing…so I kinda question if it is really common sense.  But here’s a serious question: “If it’s NOT about doing away with the 2nd Amendment… why are you demanding FEDERAL gun legislation?”  You see, the states can do pretty much whatever they want.  You mean to tell me that Miami, FL has the same needs as Cody, WY?  THEY DON’T.  Why not let them decide what gun laws make sense for them?  The greatest thing is that, in so doing, you don’t have to actually disregard the 2nd Amendment because states have a very large leeway in their gun regulations.  So why is it so very important that it happen at the Federal level?   Because the end goal is total disarmament.  And that is why we will never give an inch.

Hoggin’ the Spotlight

Posted by Troy on 20th March 2018 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

I am utterly sick of David Hogg (and Emma Gonzalez for that matter).  These two are utterly uninformed.  Insulated by those with an agenda in mind.  They pack panels of “victims” who happen to be kids.  Their scree can be summed up like this, “Guns should be banned!  You are not allowed to disagree with me because someone shot up my school!”  If they are feeling particularly disrespectful, they may say you have blood on your hands or that you’re the “bitch of the NRA.”

When I was in high school, I actually did a petition AGAINST gun control.  True story.  Yeah, I was an odd kid.  However, tons of other kids in my school signed it, pretty much anyone I asked.  My point?  Have ya noticed that 100% of school kids WANT gun control?  Wow!  That’s amazing!  100%…or so CNN would have ya believe.

If we let kids run the joint, we may have open borders or the age of consent being 12 or the drinking age being lowered to 13 or communism or any host of stupid ideas.  Frankly…we are the adults.  We run things.  We raise kids to be NEW adults.  When that happens, they get a say.  There’s a reason why it works this way.  Because, frankly, kids are unwise.  They have to grow in wisdom.  Letting the unwise rule is…well…unwise!

I’d challenge David or his ilk to an actual debate any day of the week.  I’d destroy them.

I do congratulate David in his pursuit to convert his personal tragedy into a career path.  I assume in another five years, he will be just another talking head blowing the hot, vapid air of opinion, devoid of any fact, but full of emotion.

Trump’s Base

Posted by Troy on 1st March 2018 in Current Events, Political

Trump bragged about how he could shoot someone in Time’s Square and his base wouldn’t leave him.  That’s possibly true, but I will tell you this, Mr. Trump, they will leave you if you abandon the Second Amendment.  None of the laws being talked about would have prevented the mast majority of mass shootings.  These are basically infringements of Constitutional rights with no payoff.  Nothing they are suggesting would have prevented a mass shooting.  Mr. Trump, if you go against the Second Amendment, don’t bother running in 2020.  Your base will abandon you, and you will lose.  I assure you, they are way more loyal to the Second Amendment than to you.

Of Dog Fighting and Gun Control

Posted by Troy on 22nd February 2018 in Current Events, Political

People fight dogs.  It happens.  They take them as puppies and train them to fight to the death.  It is horrible, but it happens.  However, when a dog fighting ring is discovered, we do not say, “It is horrible how some people mistreat dogs.  We can prevent these abuses if we just get rid of all the dogs in America.”  No.  We understand that dogs are a good thing.  We understand that the people that abused them are the the bad ones.  We punish the humans for their offenses.  Even the most vicious dog in these circumstances is innocent of any crime other than being abused by a human with evil in his heart.  And yes, there have been cases, while decidedly rare in modern times, of murder by dog.

Statistically speaking, there are about 33,000 gun deaths in America per year.  Over half are suicides.  Once you whittle it down, it comes down to about 5,000 homicides a year.  Statistically speaking, this is nothing if you want to compare it to drug overdoses, death by medical malpractice, or a host of other causes where a fraction of effort could reduce deaths by 10% and easily outpace cutting gun deaths to zero.  You can say, “Every gun death is a tragedy,” and I will disagree.  When a rapist is killed by an innocent woman who is being attacked, that is NOT a tragedy.

Going back to the dog analogy, I compared these school shooters to a dog that’s been kicked.  I liked that analogy.  Let’s go back to the dog fighting example.  Some of these dogs, when they are discovered, are too vicious and have to be put down.  That is what these kids are.  Maybe the bullying had pushed them to these dark deeds, much the same way the abuse pushes these dogs to be killers, but that does not excuse their nature.  Their nature, at that point, is real and must be dealt with.  However, when they put these dogs down, there is nothing but sadness at what must be done.

That is how we need to execute people when it is necessary.  There should be no joy.  No self-righteous anger.  There should be a calm sadness.  It should be more like “And so it’s come to this…”  A sense of pity that we have failed these individuals.  We failed to identify that they needed help.  We failed to steer them back to the righteous path.  In so doing, we may learn to identify those who need help, to prevent such failures in the future.  This would be my fondest hope.

School Shooting Solutions

Posted by Troy on 15th February 2018 in Current Events, Political

This kid was on Youtube saying that he was going to be a professional school shooter.  He was reported to the FBI.  Everyone that knew this kid knew that he was dangerous.  They knew that this was going to happen.  But I guess the FBI was too interested tracking down Russian collusion than following up on some kid threatening to shoot cops and school kids.

This kid was screaming out for help, and no one listened.  That’s why 17 people are dead at his hands.  Plain and simple.

You want to stop these things?  Identify people with mental issues and get them they help they need.  I am also a fan of increased CCW.  You say that schools should be a gun free zone.  Yeah, it was…until he brought a gun there.  Then it was suddenly NOT a gun free zone.  At larger schools, one or two armed guards would be a good idea as well.  Frankly, I am sure that there are plenty of retired military that would gladly volunteer their time tot he community in this service.

If you want to point to the “assault rifle,” as the issue, I hate to break this to you… a sawed off shotgun and a 1911 .45 would have had a similar body count in those packed conditions.  So either be honest and say you want to total gun ban or understand that your solution really isn’t a solution.  Let’s also be honest, there are over a million “assault rifles” in circulation.  How do you plan on getting rid of those?  Are you going to kick in people’s doors and take them?  And what if the people take offense at that and are willing to die over it?  How many law-abiding gun owners are you willing to turn into criminals and subject to fascist tactics and/or kill?  Just curious.  I want to have an honest conversation here.

Ask the people of France how their ultra-strict gun laws protected them from the AK-47s used by the Muslim extremists.

It’s like I always say: “Guns should be illegal.  That way, no one will be able to get them…just like drugs.”

The Lie of Gun Violence

Posted by Troy on 14th June 2017 in Current Events, Political

There are about 33,169 gun deaths a year.

Of this, 21,175 are suicides  63.8%.  You could say “Oh…but we need to protect people from killing themselves.”  This is odd given the same people that argue this are for medical assisted suicide, particularly in the terminally ill or elderly.  I guess they have no problem with you killing yourself, but they don’t want you to do it cheaply on your own terms.  In fact, Japan has one of the highest suicide rates and virtually no guns.  Method of suicide can be found.  It’s just in the United States, guns are readily available, reliable, and painless if done correctly.  Availability of guns will most likely have little effect on the number of suicides.

786 (2.3%) deaths are accidents or intention unknown.

That leaves 11,208 homicides.  Of these  80% are gang related.  Many of these deaths are gang on gang deaths as they wage war over turf and drug territory (which could lead to either a discussion of decriminalization or really cracking down on casual drug sales, I generally prefer the former than the latter).  But bear in mind…what is the term “Homicide?”  Well, it is when a human kills another human.  This is why suicides are lumped in with homicides.

MS-13 has proven that you don’t need guns to kill people.  You just jump out of your car with machetes and hack up 16 year old girls.  Or you can do like the Boston bomber and make a bomb out of fireworks and a pressure cooker.  Or you can do like the Nice terrorist and just turn your car off the road and mow people down.

None of these statistics show how many crimes are prevented by the idea that the potential may be armed or may have a shotgun by their bed.  None of these statistics show the number of times a gun being pulled is enough to cause someone to run away from a potential crime.

Finally, the Second Amendment is not about crime or self-defense.  It is about defending your country from a government run amok.

The 2nd Amendment and Hillary Clinton

Posted by Troy on 11th October 2016 in Current Events, Political

I am what you call a single issue voter, when it comes right down to it.  There is one issue that I will elevate above all else.  I could believe in 99.9% of what someone says…if they want to do away with the 2nd Amendment, they can go straight to hell.

Here’s what I remember about Hillary Clinton.  I remember Wako.  I remember Ruby Ridge.  Her husband was rabid about going after people who had guns. In the case of Wako, they used military force against US citizens.  David Karish went into town every week.  They could have arrested him at any time.  However, they did a siege of his compound.  Ruby Ridge…hell…they were actually innocent and ended up being killed by our government based on rumors.  Why?  Because of guns.  Hillary is an anti-gunner of the highest order, despite the fact that she wants to have guns around herself and her family 24/7.  Why?  Because SHE’S important.  She needs to be protected.  You?  You’re just a friggin’ nobody.  Surely no one would want to kill you…or rape you.

And that’s where I come up.  You can say Trump has sexually assaulted someone.  Well…no one has even come forward to actually accuse him, other than the media.  There we go, but that’s all there is to it, isn’t it?  Meanwhile, rappers can talk all kinds of shit about women.  You wanna talk about objectifying women.  Shit, let’s look at Hollywood for a second.  Arch-Feminist, Beyoncé, parades around in lingerie and wants to pretend that she is all about women’s empowerment.  We have full industries that are focused around objectifying women.  Not only do we not say SHIT about it, but we give these people millions of dollars and critical acclaim and awards and talk about how brilliant all these people are.  So, ya know what?  Your complaints fall on deaf ears.  You celebrate indoctrination of objectification and then want to pretend that your offended?  Shit…BILL CLINTON RAPED WOMEN AND HIS WIFE DESTROYED THEM!  Why did she destroy them?  Oh…maybe the first one she thought he was innocent.  I doubt it.  I seriously doubt it, but I’ll give it to you.  But after that?  After the third and fourth time?  No…Bill IS  a sexual predator.  There’s not argument about it.  So she protected her husband, destroyed his accusers so that she could maintain political power.  Fun.  Read Disgraceful Persecution of a Boy by Mark Twain.  You support the culture.  You’re just as guilty as Trump.  Not to mention…here again…BILL CLINTON RAPED WOMEN.

So, lets accept the media’s accusations, just for kicks and giggles.  That means that a sexual predator WILL BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE.  One, however, will let our women keep weapons.  Another will do everything in her power to get rid of guns.  She will appoint Supreme Court Justices which will interpret the 2nd Amendment to read that it only applies to well regulated militias (despite the numerous writings of the Founding Fathers which flat out say that the 2nd Amendment is about being able to defend your rights against the government and is an individual right).  She will then pull and Angela Merkel and bring in Syrian refugees which will molest and rape American women (French and German youtube assaults where no one does a damn thing to stop the assaults).  To add insult to injury, they will demand to take away your right to keep and bear arms BECAUSE of the Syrian refugees which they inflicted us with.  But Chelsea Clinton will be protected.  She’ll be safe…and no one wants to rape Hillary anyway.  So it’s all good.  You?  You’re unimportant.  No one’s gonna wanna rape you, so why do you need to defend yourself?

This…this is the reason why women should be completely against Hillary Clinton.  God created men.  Sam Colt made them equal.  Take away guns, and a woman is no match for a 200 pound man with a raging hard-on and no sense of morality…the side-effect of 50 years of trash entertainment.

This is what’s at stake.

Congress of Children

Posted by Troy on 23rd June 2016 in Current Events, Political

I see adults, sitting around cross-legged, and I have to ask…is anyone else reminded of children?  Have some dignity, for crying out loud.  You are statesmen.  Get up and argue your case, calmly and rationally.  It was all political theater, of course.  I liked one Democrat that said, “We have to put it simply so that Americans can understand,” and I felt like it summed up how the politicians view us.  They view us as idiots that can’t take care of ourselves.  Or like Charlie Rangel that said that his voters didn’t need the Second Amendment to protect themselves…but of course Congress needs armed guards to protect them.  The reason is… you’re unimportant.  Why would you need to protect yourself?  But politicans…they’re important!  Of course they need to be protected.

It’s a lie, of course.  The politicians are completely unimportant.  It’s easy to replace them with people just as inept and just as corrupt.

Obama Using Grieving Families as Props

Posted by Troy on 16th June 2016 in Current Events, Political

This is a disgusting habit he has.  Someone dies.  He shows up, pretends that he cares, and uses the family’s pain to push his agenda.  I’m gonna be frank: I totally hate this guy.  Totally do.  I’m not sure if I’ve ever hated anyone in my life, but I totally hate this guy.  I don’t care if it was a politician I like.  I wouldn’t cry and say “Please…please do something to stop the gun violence,” which is what he is claiming.  No.   I’d tell him to **** off.  And the reason I would do so would be because I know that he DOESN’T CARE ONE BIT about my loved one and is USING their death.  It would PISS ME OFF.  Even if I LIKED the guy.  Even if I AGREED with them on the issue.  I would honest to God tell him to **** off.

Just a profanity laced rant tonight, gang.  Seriously, I find this crap offensive.
