Goodbye, Never Trumpers

Posted by Troy on 27th October 2016 in Current Events, Political

After watching all the mainstream media fawn over Megyn Kelly for her debate against Newt Gingrich, I feel the need to talk about her and Glenn Beck and their ilk.  These are the people who are supposed to appeal to “conservatives.”  Well, siding with Hillary Clinton does not appeal to conservatives.  Let’s presume that Trump is a roll of the dice.  Fine and dandy…but Hillary is loaded dice.  Every roll will come up with fascism and corruption.

Megyn Kelly is demanding twenty million a year for her ratings which are the worst in Fox News’ prime time lineup.  Everyone turns off Fox after O’Reilly and then tunes back in for Hannity at 10 PM.  Honestly, if I was Fox, I’d cut her loose and let her go be the “conservative” pundit of CNN.  Her brand is destroyed.  The same with Glenn Beck.  Go to his website, and there will be 3 negative stories for Trump to every 1 negative story for Hillary.

Do these people think people are going to return to watching them after this election?  Especially if Hillary wins?  No, their careers are shot.  They have made out that Trump supporters are knuckle-dragging, women-hating, racist Nazis.  Here’s a real good measure for you.  I guarantee you that you know one Trump supporter that you respect, that you think really highly of.  You have known this person for years.  Which is more likely: that you have completely misjudged this person and he’s some sort of horrible person or that the media is trying to bully and brainwash you into believing what they want you to believe?

Fire Megyn Kelly and replace her with Kimberly Guilfoyle.  I promise I will be glued to my TV Monday through Friday at 9 PM.  I promise!

Beck – Pandering to Hillary Supporters

Posted by Troy on 18th August 2016 in Political

So last night, Bill O’Reilly inquired about Beck’s ratings these days after Beck’s been on a crusade against Trump.  Beck responded by saying that his ratings were up 25%.  I thought, “How the hell is that possible?”  Then I realized: After Hillary’s speech at the DNC, Beck spent 2 minutes talking about Hillary and 2 hours trashing Trump.  It made no sense to me at the time.  But now I know…Hillary supporters are tuning in to Beck to listen to him trash Trump.  I hate to break it to him, but after the election, these listeners will abandon him, and Trump supporters will not return after being called Nazi’s and stupid.  As such, Beck will either go the way of the dodo or will merely turn his coat and become as socialist-Leftist.  My dad used to call him a “monetary patriot.”  I think that is still true, so I look forward to his full conversion to socialist.

Bernie Disappoints Me

Posted by Troy on 12th July 2016 in Current Events, Political

And let it be said of all false prophets.  He is a sellout as they all are.  I lost all respect for him.  Hillary Clinton is the poster child of government corruption and theft.  She is the poster child of selling influence, of being above the law, of bad trade deals and all the other things he claimed to be against.  But in the end, he tucked his tail between his legs and endorsed her.  In fairness, he may find Trump is worse, but there is a difference in endorsing someone and fighting someone.  If he wanted to take the position “We cannot allow Trump to become President,” then by all means, I could still have respect for him, but instead, he decided to laude praise on Clinton.  This is clearly him selling out.  We will never know what his price was, but he will be rewarded for “handing over” his followers.

I think that the Democrats have miscalculated, however.  These were not people that followed Bernie because they loved Bernie.  No, these were people who followed Bernie because he was speaking the things that they believed.  They loved how he took it to Clinton.  I should imagine that there will be a very sizable portion of his followers that will simply lose faith in Bernie and not blithely follow what he says.  I think Bernie is the Liberal equivalent of Glenn Beck.  He thinks he can dictate how people vote, and I think he is going to find out that people actually DO think for themselves sometimes.

Glenn Beck is a Moron

My father used to refer to him as a monetary patriot.  I always sort of agreed.  Of late, he has been trumpeting Ted Cruz and demonizing Donald Trump.  This is all fair game.  Clearly, he believes that Cruz is the better choice, and he has a lot of suspicions when it comes to Trump.  Again, this is all well and good.  However, it would appear that he has gotten tired of not being able to convince anyone based on the merits of his arguments.  He had a call-in show where-in he wanted to talk to Trump supporters.  So how did he spend the entire show?  Ridiculing Trump supporters.  How is this supposed to win people over?  It was rather disgusting to hear three people ravaging ordinary people.  How is this any different than what the Left does?  They always ridicule those who disagree with them such as calling climate change deniers “flat-earthers.”

Then Sarah Palin endorses Trump.  So what does Glenn Beck do?  Ridicules his “one-time” friend.  Again, this makes him look odious.  I’d never be friends with Glenn Beck at this point.  That boy would stab you in the back as soon as you are of no use to him or disagree with him.

In full disclosure, Rand Paul would be my first choice followed by Dr. Ben Carson.  Then I’d say Cruz, then Trump.  After that…eh…

I think that Glenn Beck would have been better served to talk about his ideas.  Or at the very least, have the balls to come out and say, “I endorse Ted Cruz.”  However, he doesn’t want to hurt his chances of getting the other candidates to come on his show, so he pretends like he is neutral.  As my dad said…a monetary patriot.

I will tell you why people like Trump: it’s because he says what people are thinking and he never backs down when he’s called out.  People that believe that way are used to being cowed by the media (etc).  What Trump is showing them is you can stand up to that, and it won’t destroy you.  Ridiculing them or Trump rather than discussing issues calmly and rationally is only going to drive people away and make them more adamant about Trump.  If he were to whine, “But I’ve been dooooing thaaaat!!!!”  I would say, “No matter.  Better to lose acting nobly than to resort to the tactics which you have hereto despised.

Agenda 21

Posted by Troy on 7th December 2012 in Entertainment

Today, I am reviewing the latest Glenn Beck book (written by someone else-a ghost writer).

First I will review the book as is.  The book is effective insofar as describing the death of the human spirit at the hands of government.  However, if it is to deal with the dangers of Agenda 21 (a real thing), I would have appreciated a more in depth discussion of actual, proposed Agenda 21 regulations.  There is a lot of redundancy in the book, and the same lines are repeated often.  This gets a little annoying.  The author describes the boredom of their lives over and over again, which in turn is pretty boring.  This is kinda by design though.  Finally, the main problem I have is that there is very little logical reasons for why the people act they way they do.  It feels like all the characters are irrational.  Sadly, I think that the only people that would enjoy this book are those who already know and hate Agenda 21.

Second, Glenn Beck totally ripped me off.  I sent him a copy of 2084: The Search for Love, Hope, and Faith in June 2011.  Here are the list of similarities between the two books that I found:

1 – Squirrels are protected animals in both books.

2-  There is no God/religion in either book.

3 – Both involve a third party acting as a link to the past: the mother in his book and Moses in my book.

4 – People are forced to live in tiny living quarters.

5 – The government keeps everyone under constant surveillance.

6 – Parent’s do not raise their kids in either book.

7 – Freedom is killed in both books by a series of laws that slowly obliterate freedom.

8 – The food only comes from the government.

9 – Government controls the people through food and energy.

10 – There are no property rights or private property.

11 – Citizens must obey or are killed.

12 – There are no elections.

13 – Money has been eliminated (cash and wealth in mine, all money in his).

14 – The preamble of the Constitution has been perverted.

15 – Both praise and mourn the loss of the Founding Fathers.

16 – Both involve revisionist history to suit the government’s needs.

17 – In order to keep their babies, both heroines have to escape.

18 – Paper (books, etc) are confiscated and forced to be recycled due to environmental concerns.

19 – A dust to dawn sleeping pattern is enforced to save energy.

20 – There are no guns in the hands of the citizens.

21 – There are themes of the hope in the free at heart vs the hopelessness in the other citizens.

22 – The majority of citizens are zombified.

23 – Both heroes find a weapon that was hidden by their link to the past.

24 – The government keeps detailed records of all citizens and their locations and activities.

25 – In both books, love grants the courage to break the law.

26 – According to the government, prior to the adoption of the current regime, people were enslaved by the capitalists.

27 – Both books agree that there is a coordinated effort by global socialists to take over everything.

28 – There is an organized resistance in both books.

29 – The members of the resistance is shot.

30 – Both George and Lizzie are history buffs, but they only know the lies the government told them.

31 – In both books, breaking the rules makes people special/different.

32 – Both describe those forces destroying freedom as evil.

33 – Both describe the destruction of hope for the entire population.

34 – In both books, the heroes are forced to kill to be free.

35 – In the afterward, Glenn Beck describes many policies as mentioned in 2084.

Let me be clear, I do not accuse Glenn Beck of plagiarism.  His book lacks any use of hedonism as a control mechanism which is heavily used in my book.  I believe he liked the concept of my book but found some of the sexual content too much for his audience and commissioned this  book which is more friendly to his target audience.

Needless to say, I would recommend 2084 instead.

Hyper-Inflation Boogie Man

Posted by Troy on 25th April 2011 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

Glenn Beck is always screaming about how the printing of so much paper money means we are inevitably going to wind up like Germany in the 1930′s.  While it is true that printing paper money pretty much necessitates that we are going to see inflation, the extent of that inflation is unknown.  Also, I would like to point out a few things:  Germany is still there.  We will be too.  The world is not going to end.  In fact, America having hyper-inflation is much safer than 1930′s Germany.  We’re not going to try to take over the world, even if Trump is elected.  Also, if inflation hits, our currency might be weak against other currencies, but the Chinese yuan is pretty much worthless compared to a lot of currencies, and currently that’s the economy everyone’s afraid of (undeservingly so).  The fact of the matter is that we are struggling on the world market due to minimum wage jobs which forced all manufacturing jobs elsewhere.  Inflation will counter that and get us back to where we can compete somewhat on price.  Finally, we could benefit from some hard times.  We need to learn the value of resilience and hard work and helping one another as we have grown soft, dumb, and lazy.  All we really need to worry about is worrying about hyper-inflation and panicking about it.
