Eight Lonely Walmart Flags

Posted by Troy on 27th July 2016 in Current Events, Political

It says all you really need to know about the Democrats, actually.  On day one, there were no American flags on the stage.  After the social media backlash, they ordered their volunteers out past the fences and gates separating the Democrat leaders from their own protesters to get eight lonely American flags from a nearby Walmart.  You have to look hard to spot them, but there they are…in the far corners of the stage, masked in shadows.  You didn’t have to look hard to find a flag at the Republican convention.  Hell, you really had to put effort into NOT looking at a flag.  I made a prediction during the RNC.  I said that there were chants of U S A, and you wouldn’t hear that at the DNC.  What do you hear?  Hil la ry.  That says it all.

Congress of Children

Posted by Troy on 23rd June 2016 in Current Events, Political

I see adults, sitting around cross-legged, and I have to ask…is anyone else reminded of children?  Have some dignity, for crying out loud.  You are statesmen.  Get up and argue your case, calmly and rationally.  It was all political theater, of course.  I liked one Democrat that said, “We have to put it simply so that Americans can understand,” and I felt like it summed up how the politicians view us.  They view us as idiots that can’t take care of ourselves.  Or like Charlie Rangel that said that his voters didn’t need the Second Amendment to protect themselves…but of course Congress needs armed guards to protect them.  The reason is… you’re unimportant.  Why would you need to protect yourself?  But politicans…they’re important!  Of course they need to be protected.

It’s a lie, of course.  The politicians are completely unimportant.  It’s easy to replace them with people just as inept and just as corrupt.

Bernie’s Plan

Posted by Troy on 8th June 2016 in Current Events, Political

I think I know what his plan is.  I think he wants to go to the convention and give the speech right before Hillary’s…and announce he is launching an independent bid.  It’s genius!  Here’s the thing.  Democrats keep calling for him to concede and give up and start helping Hillary win…but here’s the thing…He’s NOT a Democrat.  He is a Democratic Socialist/Independent.  He doesn’t care if he ticks off the Democratic party because his success (either past or future) is not dependent on the party.  Also, he’s in his 70′s, and this is his last hooray.  Also…I think that he hates Hillary.  To Bernie, Hillary is no better than Trump.  Both are about profit.  Both are (in his mind) beholden to big business.  I don’t think he is going to help her at all.  I actually like Bernie.  He keeps fighting.  Deep down, Americans love someone that doesn’t give up.  I’m putting my bet on an independent run.

Colorado has gone nuts

Posted by Troy on 5th March 2013 in Current Events, Political

When I say Colorado, what do you think of? Mountain men?  Rugged individuals?  Outdoorsy types?  Campers?  Hunters?  So forth?  So, why is it that they are on the verge of passing some of the craziest gun laws in the country that will do nothing to reduce gun deaths?  So why is this?  Well, I know that Colorado has become a Mecca for pot lovers and X-treme gamers and what not.  Maybe the crazies have out paced the rugged individualists?  Oh, Heaven help us.  It is clear that the Democratic party is hungry to make an example state.  What better example state than Colorado?  A state where they have the power to pull it off without opposition?  A state which is synonymous with rugged masculinity?  I hate to break it to them, it is going to backfire and backfire royally.  The normal people are going to slaughter the Democrats in the next election.  You will also see extreme grass roots movements to counter any attempts at gun control.  Finally, you will see NRA membership skyrocket.

Immigration Issue

Posted by Troy on 11th November 2012 in Political

After this last election, it is apparent that neither side will have any stomach to tackle the immigration issue.  We never really had this type of problem before.  Rogue crossings from Europe were difficult to pull off at best.  Now we have a subset of the population willing to hold the law hostage with their vote.  I actually wouldn’t be against open boarders…except for the free stuff.  However, we’re never going to get rid of the free stuff, so here is what we are going to do, and it’s really the only reasonable thing left to do:

Anyone that is here must register with bio-metrics to be eligible for this program.  Anyone under this program cannot attain full citizenship.  This person must pay a fee of $25,000.  This is much more than anyone else who immigrates here legally.  Every year, they are required to file a tax return.  Using e-verify, employers will be required to withhold a high percentage of their income.  This will generate a refund due on their return.  These refunds will eventually eat away at fee.

There is a reason why we don’t just open the floodgates to the rest of the world.  The real reason is that people are supposed to come here and assimilate, but  people are no longer doing it.  They are coming here and then they are secluding themselves.  They are refraining from learning our language (English).  They proudly display their old flag.  As such, they never learn what it means to be American.  They never learn the Constitution.  They don’t learn the history.  That has got to change… however, the Democrats would like things just the way they are.  Obama and Clinton and the other driving forces of the Democratic party believe in global governance.  They believe in the UN.  They believe in LOST.  They believe in multinational organizations.  They believe in a global currency.  They believe in a global carbon tax.  The list goes on and one.  Read the writing on the wall.

Who should give charity?

Posted by Troy on 9th September 2012 in Human Nature

Catholics tend to support Democrats.  A Catholic asked me why this is.  The reason the church usually gives is that the Democratic party supports giving to the poor.  They overlook the whole abortion, gay marriage, and increased acceptance of divorce, but okay.  But here’s a question: Why do they support the Democrats for “giving to the poor?”  You see, the thing is that the only way the government can give to the poor is through coercion.  When the poor vote to take money from the rich to have it redistributed to the poor, they are not engaging in charity.  They are  engaging in theft.  Is it really any different than if men took a vote and ordered women to have sex with them?  People aren’t supposed to pay taxes as their form of “charity.”  They are supposed to give money to people, churches, and other charities.  I don’t think Jesus will say, “Good man!  You filed your 1040 and didn’t even claim some of your legitimate itemized deductions so that the government will have more money to support the poor!  Good going!  Welcome to Heaven!”  There are also some bad side effects to the government taking over charity.  Those receiving aid have no moral obligation to the giver of the aid.  When friends and neighbors help someone, the donee feels, typically, the need to live up to the help by trying to get to a point where they don’t need help.  No one has that feeling to the government.  Also, if the church is helping someone, that person has a greater chance to converting to that religion and maybe making positive changes to their lives.  Again, this does not happen with help from the government.  The government is also very inefficient with the money.  There is a lack of policing of the funds.  If you give your friend $100 and then catch him getting lap dances down at the strip club, you’re probably not going to give him any more money, are ya?  The government will.  Finally, the government taking over the role of charity provider degrades the moral fiber of society.  People start to think that the government will take care of people, and they will stop giving to charity themselves.  There is a reason why America far outpaces the rest of the world in charitable giving.  It is also a key reason why Republicans tend to give much more to charities than Democrats (statistically true).

Bad Week for the Obama Administration

Posted by Troy on 7th June 2012 in Current Events, Political

Eric Holder has less and less wiggle room as the investigation narrows down.  With what we know now, it is clear that he either lied about what he knew about the Fast and the Furious, or he is utterly incompetent.  There’s really no other excuse.  Now they have wiretapping request that specifically spell out what was going on, and they were signed off on.  This means that they either knew about Fast and the Furious or they are just signing stuff without actually reading it.  Which one of these options do you like best?  I don’t know how Holder still has his job, honestly.

Now even Democrats are starting to get upset with Obama over all the security leaks.  It is clear that someone is leaking this information trying to make Obama look good, but it is destroying our ability to take advantage of these tactics going forward.  He bragged about Seal Team Six and how we found Osama, and now our doctor friend is in jail for 38 years.  We’ve taken credit for shutting down Iran’s computers.  I for one liked them not knowing it was us.  Then there is this stupid kill list thing, which is a grey area.  Personally, I would think his supporters would be pissed over the kill list and it will backfire, but we will see.

Occupy Wall Street is against affecting election

Posted by Troy on 2nd May 2012 in Current Events

Supposedly, Occupy Wall Street has a civil war (the few people who are left in it).  Some people are wanting them to affect the election, and others want to avoid that as they believe it will mean they are only a tool for the Democrats.  Naturally, the Democrats want Occupy Wall Street to be the left wing Tea Party.  However, despite the fact that the Tea Party and OWS are both against corporate cronyism, the similarities end there.

The Tea Party was instantly a political movement.  If you talk to a Tea Party member, they are less excited about the general election.  Instead, they are interested in watching their Senators and Representatives, writing letters, and defeating them in primaries if they act in bad faith or do a bad job.

By fighting becoming a voting block, OWS shows their true colors.  There is only one legitimate way to change things in our system, and that is voting.  How else are they supposed to change things?  Well, that comes back to what I’ve always said about them…they are a revolutionary group.  They wish to overthrow the Constitution.  What they want to have cannot be supported by the Constitution.  They are a youth movement, which means they are being manipulated by the old revolutionaries of the 60′s that failed to overthrow the capitalist system back then.  It appears that the movement is dying out.  If they have the numbers though, they will eventually be given the order to riot.  It’s just common sense.  If you want to change the system and you’re not interest in voting, what does that mean?  Isn’t that as suspicious as people learning how to fly a plane and not being interest in learning how to land?

Catholics voting Democrats

Posted by Troy on 1st April 2012 in Human Nature

O’Reilly had a Roman Catholic Priest on his show to explain why Catholics vote for Democrats despite the mandates, the stances against organized religion, and abortion.  The priest said that the Democrats differed on these points, but that Catholics feel that the Democratic party stands for those things that Catholics appreciate, such as feeding the poor.  I shall now explain why this is a terrible reason to vote for anybody.

Feeding the poor is not an appropriate function of government.  Do you think that Jesus would say, “Go forth!  Pay money to thy king that he may choose to feed the poor?”  Do you think that he would be proud of you if you met him and said “Jesus, I always paid taxes.  In fact, I wanted higher taxes so that more poor would be fed?”  No.  He would not.  Here is why:  Jesus would never say that it was the government’s job to feed the poor.  He wouldn’t even say it was the church’s job to feed the poor.  It is YOUR job to feed the poor.  You are supposed to CHOOSE to feed the poor.  You are to open your checkbooks and give voluntarily.  Taxes are in no way, shape, or form a form or substitute for charity.

All of these types of issues that Christians and Democrats have in common are not appropriate functions of government.  The government is supposed to establish justice, promote the GENERAL welfare, provide for the common defense, and secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our descendants.  If we go down the road that the government should provide for all the needs and wants of its populace, it will be a never ending list that will end in bankruptcy for the country.

Super-committee fails

Posted by Troy on 21st November 2011 in Current Events, Political

The Super-Committee failed.

On one hand:  Thank God.  The Constitution does not allow for a “Super-Committee” to enter into a binding contract in which not all fifty states have an opportunity at representation.

On Obama saying that he will not allow the Congress to by pass the mandatory cuts:  It depends on what he means by that.  I agree that holding their feet to the fire is the only way to get something done.  However, are they allowed to continue to work, as an entire Congress, towards getting the cuts necessary?  If so, then I approve of his tactic.  If he is saying that the mandatory cuts can no way be avoided, then I believe he is actively trying to destroy America, and there can be no other interpretation (unless you want to say that he’s an ideological idiot).

On the cuts, should they happen:  It’s a dark day that it’s come to this.  This is what happens when people don’t take responsibility and do what needs to be done.

I should note that the Democrats get whatever they want.  If the Republicans cave, they get tax hikes.  If nothing gets done, they get large cuts in the defense budget.  In either case, the Republicans lose!  What a deal!  It also dovetails into Obama’s narrative that Republicans are a “Do Nothing Congress.”
