Cops Shot in Dallas

Posted by Troy on 7th July 2016 in Current Events

So, two black men were shot by police in other cities.  These shootings are currently under investigation by police.  The obvious response is for someone to shoot two cops who had nothing to do with the situation.

There are going to be two groups of people.  There is going to be a certain part of the population which will say that this proves that we need to do something to end the systematic racism and murder of blacks by police officers.  And the others that view these incidents as unfortunate rarities.  What this is to say is that there are people that believe that this is the reality of the world, and there are others that do not believe this reality.

I am not going to debate this reality question.  I think that people have pretty much made up their minds on the matter one way or another, and I don’t want to waste my time either way.

What I want to say is: arm yourselves.  Either one of two things will happen.  Either the first group of people will win and cops will stop doing their jobs (as they have done in Baltimore and other big cities which have since seen murder rates skyrocket) or this group will become more militant, and we will begin to see more situations like Dallas.

Of course, the major concern on my mind, and one that I will be watching in the coming months, is if our Dictator in Chief will declare martial law.  Remember, he ran in 2004 saying that we needed a domestic peacekeeping force as large and equally funded as the US Military.  As I’ve always said…who is such a force going to fight?  Last time I checked…Americans are the only people here…well…also illegals, but Obama would NEVER send police forces after them.

Where the Republicans went wrong

Posted by Troy on 21st February 2013 in Current Events, Political

I’ve been thinking about why the Democrats have continued to beat Republicans despite the fact that the majority of their platform is contrary to the majority of Americans.  I think I finally figured out the answer.  It is because the Democratic party is the grab bag of passionate causes.

You want to help the environment?  Well, the Democrats will do that.

You want to ban guns/end gun violence?  Well, the Democrats will do that.

You want to women’s right?  The Democrats

Gay rights?  Democrats

Animal rights?  Democrats

Pornography?  Democrats

Legalized _______?  Democrats

Socialism?  Democrats

So forth so forth.  What do Republicans offer in exchange?  Low taxes?  Fiscal responsibility?  Personal responsibility?  Those aren’t sexy at all, are they?  There’s no “hot button” issue that the Republicans can lay claim to.  If you are for strong immigration control or traditional marriage, you get tarred and feathered as a racist or hate monger.  If you’re for a strong national defense, war monger.  If you’re against the Law of the Sea Treaty, fish monger.  So many mongers out there.  If you’re in for the whole bag, I guess you’re a mongrel monger.

I think that’s why you are starting to see a rise in the interest of Libertarianism.   Liberty is something you can be passionate about.  While I’m extremely passionate about the Constitution, it’s hard to get the young people to be passionate about it…until they comprehend that it is the truest path to real Liberty.  If the Republicans are to have any future, they will have to embrace this part of of their constituency.  Only a Libertarian can carry a national election (such as Ron or Rand Paul).  They need to run Conservatives in the South and Libertarians elsewhere if they are to have a shot.

Many would claim that Libertarians can exist on both sides of the aisle.  These people are fooling themselves.  A Libertarian can pull people that typically vote Democrat or Republican, but a Libertarian must, by definition, hate nearly every part of the Democratic agenda.  The Democratic Party is by nature a big government party.  They are for higher taxes, taking a bigger and bigger portion of the overall economy.  In exchange for this, more goods and services will be offered for “free” to the public.  The price of these “free” products is never ending servitude to the party as they can always take it away from you.  Once you’ve become dependent on these “benefits,” it’s very hard to give them up.  As such, you’ve become a little more than a slave.

Romney Killed My Wife!

Posted by Troy on 9th August 2012 in Current Events, Political

A new attack ad on Romney claims that his shutting down a plant caused a man’s wife to die.  Shall we also charge liquor store owners with drunk driving deaths then?  What about you eating crab when someone dies on The Most Dangerous Catch?  Do you see where we are going?  Did you know that it is a given that x number of workers will be killed building a road or building a building?  If we set a speed limit of 35 miles per hour, we would have virtually zero fatalities on the road.  Does your desire not to take seven forevers in getting somewhere mean that you are directly responsible for these deaths?  Sounds that way, really.  Is it a company’s objective to provide health care to people?  Nope.  It’s to make a profit.  If you owned a business that wasn’t profitable, you wouldn’t sit there and keep losing money.  Would you?  If you would, it’s no small wonder that you don’t own a business.

Here’s the real answer to this attack, and it’ll never be said.  Sometimes, life sucks.  Sometimes, life is unfair.  Everyone you know will eventually die.  Sometimes through no fault of their own.  Perhaps, if the steel mill had been left open, the husband would have fallen into a vat of molten steel and died, and his wife still would have died of cancer.  Life is crazy and unpredictable.  The only thing we can do is play the hand we are dealt to the best of our abilities.  I’m sorry that the man’s wife died, but Romney’s no more to blame than anyone else.  This isn’t to mention the fact that she died 7 years after he was fired and had insurance of her own.

Life isn’t fair.  Deal with it.

Kim Jong-Il is Dead

Posted by Troy on 19th December 2011 in Current Events, Political

The King is dead.  Long live the King.

A while back, some American eye doctors went to North Korea and did cataracts surgery constantly.  When they took the cataracts out, they praised Kim Jong-Il out of fear of the man rather than thank the doctor.  For some reason, it is not enough for these dictators to live high while those below starve (literally) to death.  They also want to be loved.  If they can’t be loved for real, they will pay people to pretend to love them or will make people pretend to love them through fear.  This clip is no different.

The man is evil.  The world is better off without him.  However, I have no illusions that democracy will break out.  However, perhaps his successor will be just a little less brutal.  This could be a case where the successor allows just a little bit of freedom, and if that happens, it will eventually set off a chain reaction that will destroy the oppressive regime like Russia with Stalin and Gorbachev.

A man can dream, right?

Amy Winehouse Dead at 27

Posted by Troy on 23rd July 2011 in Current Events

I was shocked to see Miss Winehouse was dead.  27 is far too young for someone to die.  Sadly, this is another case of fame and fortune leading to an early death.  She was so talented, but she couldn’t handle it.  She got mixed up in drugs, it stole her talent, made her into a joke, and in the end, caused her death.  Poor girl.  I hope those who relished in her downfall feel guilty, but I know they don’t.

Osama bin Laden – Alternate theories

Posted by Troy on 4th May 2011 in Current Events, Political

The disposal of the only evidence in the matter sheds doubt.  Was Osama bin Laden really killed on May 1, 2011?  Possible explanations:

Obama, fearful of reprisal from Muslim Extremists and trying to win the hearts of un-extreme Muslims, buries the body at sea.  This destroys the only real proof of bin Laden’s death and really annoys our closest allies that want to see the body.  This is, however, completely in Obama’s character.  I give this a 50% chance of being the true story.  The only reason why it is so high is that it would involve too many players to blow the secret and there were survivors of the raid which (I assume) cooraborate that Osama was there.

Osama died either in the raid of Tora Bora or of disease and we discovered it.  Perhaps we found his corpse in the mountains and identified the body.  We staged this assault for a Hooray moment and to boost Obama’s tanking popularity (which isn’t going to work…being unemployed and paying $5 for gas still sucks even with Osama dead).  I give this a 45% chance of being the truth.

Finally, what would seal the problems with both these stories is that he wasn’t killed at all.  Instead, he was taken alive and is being interrogated.  They staged the funeral so that Muslim extremists wouldn’t continually suicide bomb stuff demanding his release.  However, I don’t think that Obama has the guts to pull this off.  I give this a 5% chance.

The other possibility is that they reached an agreement with Osama bin Laden to fake his death in exchange for information, et cetera.  I feel this is remote.  I put no chance to this one.

The fact of the matter is that they are continually changing their story.  It’s like listening to a teenager who keeps building a tower of lies to cover up other lies.  It’s like they are focus testing the story as they go, and if it’s not polling right, they change it.  Something very odd is going on with the whole thing.

Osama Bin Laden Dead?!

Posted by Troy on 1st May 2011 in Current Events

You know, I really, truly, believed he was dead already.

I’m not a fan, but kudos Obama on baggin’ this guy.  Unfortunately, we’re going to see a bunch of suicide bombers in the next few weeks, but I’m still glad this guy is dead.
