Why I Find David Hogg Pathetic

Posted by Troy on 29th March 2018 in Current Events, Political

We raise our fist in the air in celebration of violence!

People are “upset” that people are eluding to that he is Hitler.  They say “Look, Hitler’s hand is flat.  David clearly has his hand in the raised fist, the symbol of rebellion.  How dare you?”

I dare because the raise fist is saying, “Accept my worldview, or this fist is going to be in your face.”  It is the clear comment that there will be no persuasion.   The only discussion there will be is them telling you their view.  If you don’t see the wisdom of their words, there will be violence.  Such is the way of fascists.

Take the recent events.

The boy was complaining that he was changing the world and couldn’t get into his school of choice.  Laura Ingram commented that he didn’t have the scholastic aptitude to get into that particular school.  So what did he do?  Did he fight his own battle and engage her?  Nope!  He called upon the mindless mob.  “Boycott her sponsors!”

Look, kid…the sting of the rebuke is in its truth.  I wouldn’t have apologized to you.  She shouldn’t have apologized to you.  You have been a disrespectful brat.  Hell, if I acted that way when I was his age, my dad would have done the single worst thing I could imagine… He would have looked at me and said, “I am disappointed in you.”  You are a foul-mouth, ill-mannered brat.  That is the truth.  You were poorly raised.  Instead of standing up like a man, you summoned others to fight for you.

I will go one step further than Laura.  I don’t believe he is the least bit upset by the death of his classmates.  I don’t pick up anything that reads of sincere anguish in his mannerisms or his voice.  I only pick up a self-assured entitlement.  I firmly believe that he saw the events as his chance to launch himself into fame, get into his choice school, and eventually become a pundit or anchor.  I have no proof, but that’s how I read this kid.

You can say, “‘Awww, but he’s just a kid!  You can’t talk that way about him after what he went through!”

Well, which is it?  Is he a traumatized kid that doesn’t have wisdom or maturity?  Or is he some wise shaman, showing us the error of our ways?  You can’t have it both ways.  Either he’s a stupid kid, and you are using him to press your agenda, or he’s a man of wisdom.  He can’t be a man of wisdom when he’s telling us to abandon a Constitutional right and a traumatized child when we respond to his attacks on our freedom.

Now, why I think he’s pathetic.  I was bullied when I was young.  But I fought back with my wits and with my fist (when the bullying was of a physical nature).  I had a teacher growing up.  When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.  He lied about his age and fought at Iwo Jima when he was sixteen.  What does this kid do?  He insults.  He condescends.  He speaks in show-trials with a packed audience and friendly press.  He never puts himself on dangerous ground.  Whenever someone offers him the least bit of of a challenge, he calls upon others to fight his fights, to destroy them.  That is why he is pathetic, just like all fascists.

Let’s Ban Knives Too

They asked a 13ish-year-old why he was marching for their lives.  He responded “My brother was shot.”

Okay, so if your brother was stabbed, shall we try to ban knives?

I know what you are going to say… “That… DIFFERENT!” which is pretty much the hallmark of someone that doesn’t have a good explanation for how they feel.

I think we can all agree that no one NEEDS a knife that is greater than 2″ in length.  With a little patience, a paring knife will do anything you need to do.  So why do we have to have this high capacity… sorry… longer knives?  For CONVENIENCE?  Because you  think it’s fun to cut huge swaths of meat?  YOU MAKE ME SICK!

Can we agree that personal tragedy is a stupid reason to make any legislation?  Every year, 20 babies fall into 5 gallon buckets and drown.  Do we make it a law that people have to bust these buckets in half or that they come with detachable bottoms to prevent such deaths?  Or do we accept that it’s a tragedy and feel sorry for the families that it happens to.

You may say, “You care more about your right to buy an AR-15 than about kids’s lives!”  But that is not the case.  I don’t want to ban the AR-15 because it wouldn’t really do anything.  If he couldn’t get an AR-15, he’d use shotguns and pistols or a host of other choices.  If guns were not available, a suicide vest or some other horrifying concepts would suffice.  So why should I give up my right when it will not accomplish ANYTHING?  Just to say “We did something!”  Yes… we did something useless and removed a right in the process.  That doesn’t seem a noble goal.  It seems more like an act of vanity than anything.

You say, “You have been brainwashed by the NRA!  They’re just a tool of the gun lobby!”  Nah.  I joined the NRA because I love and understand the 2nd Amendment and want it protected.  Frankly, if they are serving the gun lobby, I flat out don’t care.  All I care about is that the 2nd Amendment stay intact.  I didn’t embrace the 2nd Amendment because of the NRA.  I embraced the NRA because of the 2nd Amendment.  Get it straight.

You say, “We’re not talking about doing away with the 2nd Amendment!  We’re just walking about COMMON SENSE gun control.”  Well, most of what you call “common sense” actually wouldn’t solve a damn thing…so I kinda question if it is really common sense.  But here’s a serious question: “If it’s NOT about doing away with the 2nd Amendment… why are you demanding FEDERAL gun legislation?”  You see, the states can do pretty much whatever they want.  You mean to tell me that Miami, FL has the same needs as Cody, WY?  THEY DON’T.  Why not let them decide what gun laws make sense for them?  The greatest thing is that, in so doing, you don’t have to actually disregard the 2nd Amendment because states have a very large leeway in their gun regulations.  So why is it so very important that it happen at the Federal level?   Because the end goal is total disarmament.  And that is why we will never give an inch.

Hoggin’ the Spotlight

I am utterly sick of David Hogg (and Emma Gonzalez for that matter).  These two are utterly uninformed.  Insulated by those with an agenda in mind.  They pack panels of “victims” who happen to be kids.  Their scree can be summed up like this, “Guns should be banned!  You are not allowed to disagree with me because someone shot up my school!”  If they are feeling particularly disrespectful, they may say you have blood on your hands or that you’re the “bitch of the NRA.”

When I was in high school, I actually did a petition AGAINST gun control.  True story.  Yeah, I was an odd kid.  However, tons of other kids in my school signed it, pretty much anyone I asked.  My point?  Have ya noticed that 100% of school kids WANT gun control?  Wow!  That’s amazing!  100%…or so CNN would have ya believe.

If we let kids run the joint, we may have open borders or the age of consent being 12 or the drinking age being lowered to 13 or communism or any host of stupid ideas.  Frankly…we are the adults.  We run things.  We raise kids to be NEW adults.  When that happens, they get a say.  There’s a reason why it works this way.  Because, frankly, kids are unwise.  They have to grow in wisdom.  Letting the unwise rule is…well…unwise!

I’d challenge David or his ilk to an actual debate any day of the week.  I’d destroy them.

I do congratulate David in his pursuit to convert his personal tragedy into a career path.  I assume in another five years, he will be just another talking head blowing the hot, vapid air of opinion, devoid of any fact, but full of emotion.
