I would like to congratulate our British friends for standing up to the propaganda and fear mongering and taking their country back.  I would like to point out that Obama’s speech to them in April warmed them that globalization hurts at first.  They are admitting what they are doing!

1 – We are different cultures and nations.  I want Brits to be Brits, Germans to be Germans, and Americans to be Americans.  I want our cultures to be what they are.  I don’t want them to disappear.  I like national identity.  Deep down, we all do.  If you’re in the south, you would hate for a bunch of Yankees to move into your neighborhood and start changing stuff up and vice versa.

2 – This will not affect the ability to defend against terrorism.  It might make BRITAIN more secure since they don’t have free-roaming immigrants and enforced refugees (etc) now.  If the EU is REALLY worried that Britain won’t have access to their security database…then give them access.  You can charge them a fee, make a treaty, whatever.

3 – The economic realities facing Britain are the same.  They have the same workforce, resources, supplies, and demands.  All this gloom and doom was meant to scare them back into line.  In a few weeks, things will return to pretty much the same as normal.  Britain is a good market, countries are going to want to trade with them.

4 – The EU was not a military compact.  That’s NATO, and that stays in place, and all parties have an interest in keeping it in place.  Also, the real reason we haven’t been seeing wars isn’t the EU.  It is because war has become too expensive among advanced societies.

I am very proud of Britain and it gives me hope that maybe we can turn back the tide of globalization.

Obama’s Obamacare Speech

Posted by Troy on 21st October 2013 in Current Events, Political

And I was just saying to someone two days ago, “At least he’s stopped having people faint when he gives a speech.”  Oh well, there went that.  Did you notice all of his laugh lines failed miserably?  He paused and waited for the laughs…and they weren’t there.  Ouch.  That had to hurt.  So let’s see…what was the take way?  Of course, they had to admit the website was crap.  I do like how he tried to positive spin the “you can apply in person or by phone” bit.  I like also how he talked about how one person would save $150 a month.  Of course, for every one person that saves money, many, many more are going to have to spend money.  He also admits that this is wealth redistribution.  One lady talked about how she was single with two kids and had to pay (throwing a number out there as I don’t remember exactly) $250 a month for medications, but now she is covered and gets the same medications for only $150 a month.  Wow!  So that was a discount then?  Oh, no wait… the difference will be passed to everyone else so that our net premiums will increase by $100 per month (fractionally thereof) to cover the costs.  Insurance is a business, not a charity.  They are not going to take a loss.  They are going to spread the costs to all of their other customers.  Also, there was no mention of people getting their hours cut from 40 to 30.  Of course, youngin’s can rejoice that they can stay on their parents’ tab until 26.  Man…I was so happy to graduate college so I could stand on my own two feet and be beholden to myself.  Now they rejoice to be beholden to their parents until age 26 and to the government for life.  Huh, wonder if they will make the parents liable for the penalty if they opt not to carry their kids if the parents can afford to but the kids can’t.   Socialism at it’s finest.  Punish the parents for insisting their kids be self-reliant.    That’s all hypothetical, but totally conceivable in my mind.  I really see no difference in when you substitute “parents” for “community” or “society.”  Let us not forget too that your choices have changed as well.  You can no longer get that catastrophic plan  on the cheap.  That’s substandard!  I don’t care if you are 23 and in peak health.  You need at least BRONZE coverage, fool.  And, of course, the most precious choice of all…no insurance.  How dare they tell you that you MUST buy anything?  There is nothing more noble that being dependent on yourself AND dealing with the consequences of that choice with dignity.  And of course, Obama let the cat out of the bag when he pointed out “that’s your cell phone or cable bill.”  Wait!  We are subsidizing people who can afford cable TV and cell phones?  Well, crap!  Easy solution!  Why don’t you cut off the cable and your cell phone, and then you will be able to afford your insurance?  Why do you expect others to sacrifice for something that you refuse to sacrifice for?

And the DOW continues to weigh in

The stock market always reflects all the information that is presently available and shows the predicted future.  Since Obama’s re-election (starting literally the very next day), the stock market has slid into oblivion.  It is continuing to skid, and it will probably do so for the foreseeable future unless SOMETHING changes.  The only thing that I think will stop this slide is if Obama moves to the center.  However, as ideological as he is, I believe this to be doubtful.  We are on the verge of a recovery.  However, I believe the very nature of Barrack Obama will prevent the recovery and send us into a double dip recession.  Stockpile your beans and rice now before inflation sets in!

Obama Re-elected: This fact says all you need to know

Posted by Troy on 8th November 2012 in Current Events, Political

The day after Obama was re-elected by the uninformed masses, something amazing happened!

The stock market, WORLDWIDE, fell.  The margins are different wherever you go, but they were all down.  Here in the United States, our markets (pretty much across every index) were down 2.25% or so.  Of course, a lot of the more informed people would say, “They were just selling off positions to re-position themselves based on his re-election.”  This fantasy involves ignoring that Obama had been the President for the last 4 years.  If they were re-positioning themselves, they must have already re-positioned once, so sure they were of his getting kicked out of office.  Nope, this is just good ol’ fashioned, “Oh crap!” selling.

What’s more telling, however, is that the 10 year US Treasury dropped 6.11% IN ONE DAY!!!!!  US Treasuries are supposed to be the most stable instrument.  Okay, so the value of the US Treasury bond for a 10 year period dropped 6.11%.  Question:  What does that tell you about the outlook for our debt?  People think that in 10 years, it’s not going to be worth crap.  Ouch.  Of course, what happens when the outlook for our debt becomes so bad that no one will hold it?

You elected him, America.  Well, half of you did.  Our half has to survive what your half did to us.  Be forewarned, when our debt becomes worthless, and we actually do have to live within our means, your free Obamaphone, birth control, and other freebies stop.  Medicare will stop too at that point.  Social Security MAY stop, or they will give you the option of moving into “free” housing with “free” food…just like in Soviet Russia.

To all those “social” voters out there:  When the Democrats had full power did they: Fix immigration?  NOPE!  Deal with gender inequalities?  NOPE!  Provide for gay marriage?  NOPE!  Legalize pot?  NOPE!  Get rid of the Patriot Act?  NOPE!  Close Gitmo?  NOPE!  Did they actually do any of the “hallmark” crap that Democrats love to give lip service to?  NOPE!  Gee, do you think all that talk is just to string you along and make you think that they have your back so they can get your support so they can go about doing whatever it is that they want to do which is rewarding their financial supporters and taking control of everything like health care?!  How about that!  What makes logical sense, don’t it?  Huh, you know, that’s what actually paying attention to what’s going on and actually THINKING about it will do for ya.  Give it a try.
