Riots, Martial Law, and other Lunacy

Posted by Troy on 2nd February 2017 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

My dad always said, “If you start yelling, you’ve lost the argument.”  Yelling is the result of having run out of logical response and resorting to pure emotion.  I want to talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome.  Brett Hume coined the term after seeing people flipping out over Trump’s presidency.

Here’s some things that I’ve seen since that November day.  I’ve see Rosie O’Donnell recommending martial law.  I’ve been numerous faked hate crimes.  I’ve seen Sarah Silverman ask for a military coup.  I’ve seen California want to secede.  I’ve seen riots at Milo speaking events.  I’ve seen violence in the streets.  I’ve seen Madonna talk about burning down the White House.  I’ve seen Tim Kaine promote fighting in the streets.  All the while, people talking about fascism, white nationalism, how Trump’s view of America is dark, and all the while demanding that we come back together.

I don’t think people see the irony.  Martial law?  Military coup?  Beating the hell out of people?  These are the very essence of fascism.  Well…let’s be honest.  The Nazi party was a national socialist party.  Fascism is where the government sets prices.  What people confuse fascism with is authoritarianism.  The hallmark of an such regime is violence and force.  The Brown Shirts were the misinformed mob that went around an beat the shit out of anyone opposing their views.  Right now…gotta say that “the resistance” is looking a lot more like Brown Shirts.

As far as California wanting to secede…what arrogance!  You lost one bloody election.  If you had some wisdom about you, you might want to invoke the Tenth Amendment.  You might demand that the Federal government be responsible for less and individual states be responsible for me.  You might want to run your state how you want to run your state and let Georgia run their state.  But no…if you can’t inflict other’s with how you wish a state to be run, you will not be happy.  Why can’t you see the virtue that the Founding Fathers found in letting each state run their own affairs as long as it falls within the confines of the Constitution?

How can anyone take Democrats seriously when they talk about how dark Trump’s vision of America is when it’s the Democrats view that ONE ELECTION MEANS NAZISM?  How do you get darker than that?  How do I take you seriously on the grounds of “white nationalism” when you have preached black nationalism, Latino nationalism, gay nationalism, etc etc etc…when all a nation means is a group of people that identify as a group…something the left has enforced with militant vigor for my entire life?  How can you possibly promote any sort of unity when you say that a full 48% of the country are either white supremacists, misogynists, racists, or pathetic morons?  That is the general theory of the Trump election…is it not?  How can you “come together” with Nazis?  Did “Love Trumps Hate” end just because of one election?  It’s sad and it’s pathetic.

What makes more sense to you?  People you have known and loved your entire life that voted for Trump are closet Nazis OR that you are being mislead and riled up?  Which makes more sense?

You want to come together?  You want to change minds?  Try sitting down with one of these beloved friends and ask them “Why did you vote for Trump?”  Try to actually understand their point of view.  I don’t think I’ve ever thought, outright, that someone opposed my view due to them being stupid or hating America or any other stupid reason.  I have always assumed that their life journey has lead them to a viewpoint.  I generally understand their viewpoint.  I just disagree with their viewpoint, but in no case have I ever decided to hate someone for their viewpoint.  I have never yelled at someone for their viewpoint.  I have never insulted someone for their viewpoint.  I will say that in the vast majority of political discussions I have had with someone of an opposing viewpoint, those have been the end result  towards me.

Learn to listen.  You may learn something.  Maybe you will change your mind.  If not, at least you will learn that the other side is not full of monsters or full of hate.  You will learn that they have their reasons.  Communication and compassion, if anything, will bring us back together.  It’s like I always say…once you understand someone, it’s impossible to be mad at them.

A Comprehensive Analysis of the Electoral College Overturning the Election

It is amazing how so many Democrats have started espousing the wisdom of the Constitution after spending my entire life explaining to me what an outdated document it is!  So the basic premise is that the Republican electors should choose someone other than Donald Trump due to Hamilton’s writings in Federalist Paper #68 in which he said that the Electoral College is meant to safeguard against a demagogue taking power.  Naturally, Democrats view Donald Trump as an unqualified demagogue while Barak Obama was the smartest man to ever take office.  But that’s neither here nor there.

First, let’s look at History.  When was the Constitution written?  It was after the Articles of Confederation failed.  What was a major issue of this failure?  All states got the same vote (one vote a piece).  As such, Virginia (the richest, most populous state) had the same say as Georgia (the smallest state, population-wise).  This really annoyed the Virginians.  Regardless, the Articles of Confederation failed, and the Electoral College (along with the bicameral nature of the legislature) was a way to strike a balance between state sovereignty and population.  Now, originally, any number of people could run for President (they still can, in theory, but not in reality).  The top two became President and Vice President, accordingly.  This was changed with the Twelfth Amendment after the President and Vice-President of different parties were chosen, causing much chaos.  But the original intent was this:  In a race between six candidates, it was possible a demagogue could troll the bottom 20% of the population and win, whereas the other, qualified candidates only got 16% each.

Now, with the two party system, this is no longer the case.  You would have to argue that 46% of the population is stupid and deserve to have their vote overturned.  Now, this truly is the Left’s belief.  They really do look down at those living in rural areas.  Ergo, the will of that huge red swath between New York and California mean little to them.  As Marx said, the city folk need to save the country folk from their own stupidity (look it up if you don’t believe me).  And this is what Hollywood believes.  Oh, those poor, backwards, red-neck, inbreeds.  They don’t know how stupid they are.  They need a benevolent dictator to do what’s in their best self-interest.  They’re too dumb to know what’s good for them.  [Google C.S. Lewis and Robber Barons for a GREAT quote of the tyranny that's for our own good...it never ends.]

So, what if the Left got its way?

Well, if the election was given to Hillary: Civil War.  No joke.  That’s what we’re talking about.  At least a couple of million dead.

If the Democrats all voted for a Establishment Republican and enough Republicans joined forces to elect a Jeb Bush (etc): The death of the Republican Party.  It should also kill the Democrat party, but it won’t.  They’ll forgive them because “They saved us from Trump.”

But even if Civil War was averted, it will be the end of American elections.  Why bother voting?  The Electoral College will choose who is president regardless of our wishes.  It is the appearance of a representative democracy, only.  It is a farce.  They will allow your vote as long as it pleases the powers that be.  Once that genie is released, it will never be put back in the bottle.

Even if you believe that Russia wanted Trump to win…seriously…do you think Putin didn’t want Barack to win?  The wide-eyed idealist with zero experience and the spine reminiscent of an earthworm over a war-hardened veteran like McCain or a savvy business tycoon that understood the threat Russia posed?  Ha!  Putin ran circles around Barak, and Putin loved that Barack won both times.  Hillary posed little problem for Putin, so I doubt he worried too much about her gaining power anyway.  But even if you think Russia views Trump as the better option…which is the best option for us: Four years of Trump as President or civil war?  Because that’s your choice, peeps.  Choose wisely.
