When the CIA becomes the KGB – The Michael Flynn Saga

Posted by Troy on 15th February 2017 in Entertainment, Political

I hate to break it to CNN and the Democrats, but I have a feeling that most people are not all that concerned about Michael Flynn’s phone call.  It seems common sense and natural that an in-coming administration would talk to diplomats to establish relationships and start forging ahead.  The people really upset about this are the same people that chose to look the other way at the Fast and Furious, IRS scandal, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, and countless other gross violations.

Release the transcript.

That’s how you know that whatever said was pretty tame.  In this “Anti-Trump” environment, if it was actually something noteworthy, it would have been plastered all over the front page.

In regards to Michael Flynn, I will wait to pass any judgement until I see the transcript.  I assume that this is politicians playing politics.  Until I see some sort of proof that he actually said anything of note, I will not get excited.

However, what makes me afraid is this:

People are claiming that un-elected government workers should thwart foes foreign and domestic. Well, I agree.  It’s every citizen’s duty to defend the Constitution, but Trump had done nothing of the sort.  To date, he has done more to recognize the Constitution than any President I have seen in my adult life.  I remember Obama constantly assaulting the Constitution.  Bear in mind, he had more 0 to 9 decisions (including two Justices that HE appointed!) than any other President in history.

Transference/Projection:

Trump and his supporters are fascists that will be rioting in the street if he loses!  Well, it would seem that Hillary supporters are the ones that cannot accept the results of the election.  They are the ones that are rioting in the streets and hitting people and burning things.  Nothing says you are anti-fascist like beating the shit outta people that don’t share your beliefs.

Michael Flynn gave speeches to the Russians!  Yeah…and Bill gave speeches to them for millions of dollars in advance of 25% of the North American supply of uranium being sold to Russia.

The Left praised Bush for not getting involved in criticizing the next President.  Meanwhile, Obama sets up an organization and affiliates himself with groups funding the professional rioters.

The Left likes to portray Trump supporters as belligerent morons.  Yet, if they ever bring themselves to actually have a political discussion with me or any other Trump supporter, it quickly turns into the leftist just screaming.

The Left claims that Trump is delivering us into the hands of the Russians, and the Russians are trying to make us lose faith in our institutions.  Yeah, like California succeeding wouldn’t work against us.  No people can be conquered if they are united.  I have never seen us so fractured.  Instead of trying to come together at all, the Left is driving their base into a frenzy and sowing seeds of hatred among them.  What has Trump done to divide us anywhere on the scale of what I just mentioned?  In fact, considering the vile and extreme sentiments aimed at him constantly, his responses have been very mute and restrained.  To the regular people who spew bile at him, he has been completely silent.

Meanwhile, while all of this is going on, Trump’s administration is cracking down on Russia at the UN.  Mattis is getting NATO to actually fund more for their own defense.  Japan and Israel seem thrilled at our new President.  You can tell by their body language that when Trump says America stands behind their allies, they believe him–whereas Obama’s promises of support were mere bluff.  Just ask the Syrians what red-lines drawn by Obama meant.

What I fear is that the CIA really is the shadow-government that conspiracy theorists claim.  Do as they say, or they will destroy you.  This is dangerous.  If this is true, this means that no one is safe.  Also, there are protections in place to protect American citizens even if the CIA is tapping Russian diplomats (which they always are–just as we are always interfering in the elections of Russia, Israel, Canada, England…).  Given the time that these taps were happening, this means that Obama or one of his higher level minions spied on their political opponents.  You want to talk about Soviet Russia?

I don’t fear the Russians.  I have shot Russian ammunition.  After you do so, you will understand that Russia is no real threat.

If an operative shows up with plans for Trump to declare martial law, I will applaud them.  If someone assassinates a President that declares martial law, I will applaud them.  But what is happening here is that things are being leaked to undermine Trump’s Presidency.  They want him to look weak and stupid and hurt our international relations.  Why?  Because Trump is a danger to our country?  What seems to be a bigger danger to our country?  One man which is subject to the checks and balances that have kept us a free people for close to 250 years?  Or does it seem more likely that fomenting civil unrest, pitting countryman against countryman, undermining the trust of our allies, and emboldening our enemies?  Is having the world on fire worth making Trump look bad?  Bear in mind, you either want blood in the streets or Trump to lose in four years.  WOW!  Yey!  That’s all you will get if you are successful.  A weaker country.  That’s what you want.  Just for a better chance of beating one man at one election in four years.

To anyone that thinks I am being inconsistent, here is the difference between what is happening and Wiki-Leaks: Wiki-Leaks was a private group.  I also think they should be held accountable for their illegal acts.  That does not mean that I will not consider the information that is provided out of something that is obtained illegally.  Truth must be regarded, but those those broke the law must be held to account.  But this is a government agency working against its political opponents.  That is dangerous.  This is what makes totalitarian regimes.  If Flynn broke a law, he should face the punishment.  But I am MUCH more concerned about the government acting to suppress their political prisoners.

CNN Republican Debate

Posted by Troy on 10th March 2016 in Political

This was a refreshing change from the Fox Ambush Debate.  I wonder if the candidates had copies of the questions, because they seemed very prepared this go around.  What I found most notable in this debate was how many of Trump’s talking points have become parts of the other candidates’ platforms.  I am seeing Trump move a little more to the center as he positions for the general election.  I will say that Trump was the winner in this debate.  Everyone else is running to his positions, and he didn’t do anything to hurt himself.

Nice opening comments.  Hey, Wolf Blitzer, I sold more books than you!

A lot of fireworks early on.  I will say that people trying to pick on Cruz for supporting amnesty is nuts.  That’s just factually inaccurate.  So far, Trump’s getting a little blood on his face between the comments of Cruz and Rubio who seem out for blood today, but Trump had a good rejoinder regarding how many jobs he’s created.

Heeeeey, Kasich and Carson get to talk too?  That’s nice of them.  Of course, Kasich is just saying “If you’re here or get here quickly, we’ll let you stay.”  Yeah…that won’t encourage more offenders.  I’m a little bummed by Carson’s stance on immigration.  They broke the law.  The punishment for breaking the law is being deported.  I’m also not interest in trying to improve the economies of other countries.

Trump did a good rant against the trade deficits.  However, Rubio is really giving him hell tonight.

I do like Rubio’s lip service to “we can’t do something Unconstitutional just because we’re sympathetic.”  I don’t really trust him on that sentiment, but there ya go.

I really hate the “I met this little girl/old lady/whatever” antedote that Kasich and other people use.

Thank God…something other than immigration.

Kasich is all over the place with his answer on religious freedom.

Rubio has a pretty decent plan on healthcare on the surface.

I do like Trump’s shout out to competition.  Kasich does seem to be under the assumption that government spending creates healthy people.  Carson gave a great answer.  I can’t believe they were going to skip Cruz.  Come on, man.  That’s not fair.  CNN needs to cut people when they are talking over each other, but everyone should have a chance to answer a major category question.

I hate to say it, but Kasich is starting to grow on me.  He does very well being passionate regarding the economy at least.  With less people on the stage, he does stand out more.

In fairness, audits are usually not fraudulent.  Those wrap up pretty quickly.  They are just proving your position.  Cruz is using the perception of an audit to mislead here.

I do agree with Marco.  There’s only one issue that matters, really.  That’s the debt.  Well…that and the Supreme Court.  But seriously, the debt is our biggest national security concern.

I do applaud Marco taking it to Trump, but he waited way too long.  I think Trump has managed to rebuff Marco for the most part.  Trump supporters are pretty loyal, so waiting this long to try to take him on is a bit toxic.

Carson really does get the shaft.  He really had a lot of good answers and managed to fit it into a time frame that should have been for one issue.

I really wish they would have talked more about the debt.  That’s the single most important issue.

I have to say…no clue who won the night.  I think it really depends on who you are supporting or not.  The biggest loser was CNN who couldn’t control the debate at all and gave Dr. Ben Carson almost zero airtime.  FAIL!

Cruz’s Dirty Tricks

Posted by Troy on 3rd February 2016 in Current Events, Political

I do not believe that Cruz gave the order to mislead the voters of Iowa.  However, by not firing the offending party, he gave his tacit approval to it.  What I find most disgusting is the wholesale defense Cruz supporters have given him on the subject.  They blame it on the CNN report and played it constantly.  They blamed it on Dr. Carson not knowing how to run a campaign.  I listened to that clip so many times.  I never once took it to mean Dr. Carson was leaving.  If they thought Dr. Carson was inept or something, that is truly irrelevant.

So you have two choices here.  Either an inexperienced, young staffer got his hopes up and “ran with it as soon as he heard Dr. Carson wasn’t continuing and didn’t bother to verify the story” or someone in the Cruz campaign saw a chance at plausible deniability.  Honestly, I think it’s the second.  As I’ve always said…no one was fired.  As such, I have to assume that someone has the approval of his superiors.

To those defending Cruz…let me ask…If Trump or Carson or Bush had done THE EXACT SAME THING to Cruz, would you be so forgiving?  I doubt it.  I seriously doubt it.  I like Cruz, but this was a severe display of dishonor.

CNN Republican Debate

Posted by Troy on 15th December 2015 in Current Events, Political

Not a huge fan of the CNN debate.  I felt like they gave Cruz and Rubio way too much time, and this prevented others from showcasing themselves.  Also, the question, “So you’re for thousands of dead Syrian kids,” was a bit much.  I mean… seriously, guys…

Trump – I think that Trump may have finally shot himself in the foot.  Saying that he would go after the ISIS families is a bit much.  I mean, it’s effective.  It’s the Total War approach that Sherman used against the South.  In all honesty, its the only thing that might work…or lead to a true religious war ending with the extermination of one group or the other.  The statement though, does make him look unhinged.  It’s a shame because he said some good stuff too.  Such as: We either have a country or we don’t.  If we have one, we have to enforce our borders.  Anyone here illegally, gets shipped out.  Yep, true true.

Cruz – I think he was the big winner tonight.  He didn’t say anything stupid and made a few good points.  He also avoided picking fights with the conservative candidates (although he did go after a few of the Establishment ones).

Rubio – I think that he is going to be the Establishment candidate.  So, here’s the take-away for the night: he is pro-pathway to citizenship [he does say that the border must be secured and legal immigration system fixed, and then we'd look at the people who were already here...but let's be honest, that's not he the way it would actually go down], he is pro military adventurism in the Middle East, and he is pro-spying on American citizens.  Needless to say, I can’t support him.

Carson – He had a pretty good night.  I don’t know if he will move up, but he is calm and measured.  What he said made a lot of sense too.  I don’t like the moment of silence at the beginning of his night.  It screams of “I don’t have anything to say,”/time eating.  I know that’s not the case, but that’s how it kinda reads.  I thought he did a good job of arguing that you don’t have to scream to be tough.

Fiorina – Man, she is so reasoned and calm.  Shame she blends into the background so much.  In particular, after debates, she just disappears.  She doesn’t have a good promotion team.  However, the lady understands messaging.  I have to give her that.  Shame CNN focused so much of their time on Cruz and Rubio.

Rand Paul – He was one hundred percent correct on everything.  We are moving away from the Constitution.  Our debt is our biggest national security weakness.  Several people up there either don’t understand what they are saying or don’t truly believe what they say.  It is a shame that he doesn’t have a more outstanding personality.  Still a big fan of his, but he cannot win the nomination.

Christie – He is someone that sounds good if you don’t know who he really is.  Although, I really enjoyed Rand Paul taking him down over the no-fly zone.  Oh, if looks could kill…

Kasich – Everybody was kung-fu fighting…have you ever noticed how much he moves his hands when he talks?  He did make some good point during the night, but I honestly cannot say what it was.  It seems his entire campaign strategy is, “Look, I can give you Ohio.”  I don’t know why he doesn’t dropout.

Bush – Did anyone else catch the Kermit the Frog impression?  ha ha ha.  He’s got nothing.  He actually did stand up to Trump this time, but it’s too little, too late.  He has zero credibility.  The sad thing is that he lost his credibility by not being able to go toe to toe with Trump previously.  Now, he’s trying to regain it by going after him constantly.  Unfortunately for him, it just makes him look rude and annoying.
