The Pope Continues to Disappoint

I’m married to a Catholic.  When she asks if I will ever convert, I point to THIS guy.  The fact that I have to accept that THIS guy is infallible basically means that I could never become a true Catholic.  So, what did he do that drew my ire THIS time?

He came out and told Europeans that they could not talk about Islamic violence unless they talk about Catholic violence.

Dude, you’re the Vicar of Christ!  If there’s Catholic violence, you should totally be on top of that.  Hell, you’d practically be responsible for it.  As such, you should be brining Catholic violence to a halt.

Oh wait…you mean violence like the Crusades and Spanish Inquisition?  Yes, we should totally stop that.  Wait…no…that’s been over for like…I don’t know…at least ten years or more by now.  Wait, it’s been done centuries ago?  Oh, shit…well, nevermind.  I’ll file this under “I don’t really care.”  You see, once you go far enough back, it kinda becomes irrelevant.  Catholic violence is pretty much not a threat to anyone at the moment.  Even if the Pope wanted to get medieval and declare a Crusade, I have a feeling the rest of the Western world would just say “Um…no.”

Meanwhile, Islamic violence is VERY relevant.  The Pope wants to have open borders?  Let’s start by doing away with the border around the Vatican City.  Perhaps he should walk the walk and house a few thousand Syrian refugees there.  The Pope is no better than the other world leaders.  He demands the common man take in these immigrants, but the immigrants are NEVER going to live where the leaders live.

Long Live the Constitution!
