Welcome back Bob Beckel!

Posted by Troy on 16th January 2017 in Current Events, Entertainment

I hate Juan Williams.  There.  I said it.  In fact, there have been times I’ve avoided “The Five” just because I didn’t want to listen to him–and that’s factoring in the fact that I am secretly in love with Kimberly Guilfoyle and could stare at her all night..  Juan always comes across as a condescending ass.  While Bob Beckel may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, he comes across as likable, if sometimes a bit of a buffoon, but I’ll take a likable buffoon over a condescending ass any day of the week when it comes to a show that’s meant mostly for entertainment value.  While his welcome back episodes was a little rough (the chemistry has not quite returned), I am glad that they have finally replaced Juan Williams.

Obama’s farewell address…and I laughed and laughed

Posted by Troy on 10th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

When a vanquished enemy is throwing shade, how sweet it is to remember that they are in retreat and laugh at their self-aggrandizement.

I listen to him rail against authoritarianism, demanding that people accept propaganda, betraying the constitution, eroding the trust in institutions, demonizing the other side, money in politics, and other matters and I laugh as I cry out to the television “That is all you!”

He had way more money than McCain.  Didn’t Obama say that Presidential Candidates should use public funding only?  Guess that only applies when the Republican had more money.  Didn’t Hillary outspend Trump two to one?

When Obama won, he told Republicans to sit down and shut up.  He won.  Elections have consequences, and he would do as he want.  While his own hubris created the Tea Party and saw a steady erosion in Democrat Representatives and Senators and governors and state legislatures, Obama turned to his phone and pen to write his own laws (many flat overturned in 9 to 0 decisions in the Supreme Court).  If you denied him, you were a racist.  If you didn’t see things his way, you were a clinger or a science denier, or just a moron.

If you voted for Trump, it was clear you hated everyone that wasn’t rich and white and male and straight.

He goes and and on about how we should be one people while at every turn demonizing half, splintering us into as many groups as possible.  His concept of compromise is the Right should give the Left everything they want at all turns regardless of who is in power while the Left should obstruct every possible thing of the Right on a matter of principal.

As I watch the most two-faced mothafuka I’ve ever seen give his final little speech, it would be easy to be angry or upset at his half-veiled swipes, at his strokin’ his own ego, at his promise to go into the lobbying business post-”retirement.”  But instead, I just laugh.

You should always laugh at a good joke, and that’s all his Presidency was.

Ha.

In defense and condemnation of Meryl Streep

Posted by Troy on 9th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

Trump called her overrated.  Alright…she is not overrated.  She is up there with Johnny Depp in the realm of good actors.  She becomes the part.

However, I condemn pretty much everything she said.  Hell, I handled my own father’s death with more reserve than her feigned performance.  That is to say, she is either acting, or she is horribly weak as a human being.  Unfortunately, she is such a good actress, I’m not sure which one it is.  Let’s take a look at her comments…

Basically, if your not a foreigner or an outsider, you’re not interesting.  In fact, without these things, people would be reduced to watching football or mixed martial arts.  So, of course, the condescension is ample.  Basically, you are either part of the hoity-toity, or your part of the knuckle dragging masses that watch football and drink Bud Light while kissing their own cousins.

Then she goes on and on about how the press and Hollywood has the obligation to protect against tyranny.

Hell, I wish they had had this point of view during the last 8 years while Democrats developed “anti-free speech” zones, pressed for censorship of the internet, did away with the filibuster (which royally bit them in the ass now that someone they actually disapprove of has come into power), and bypassed Congress by use of executive orders (this President has had more 9 to 0 opinions AGAINST him than anyone else in Supreme Court history).  Need I remind people of the celebrity video of celebrities pledging to be “a servant to Obama.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51kAw4OTlA0

This a bunch of morons pledging not to be a servant to the Constitution.  Not to the country.  Not to some value or ideal.  NOPE!  To a MAN!

And this is the same group of people that expects us to take them seriously when they talk about cult of personality, a “strong man,” or a dictatorship?

Based on the last eight years, it became apparent that the Left LOVES a dictator.  They just want a dictator that they approve of.  At every executive overreach, at every example of legislating from the bench, they cheered.  Now that someone is in power they don’t like…they worry about executive overreach.  They worry about a strong central government.  They worry about the Supreme Court.  They worry about every single thing which should show them why they should not want an all powerful central government with an all powerful executive at the head.  Maybe…just maybe…the Founders had a good idea about state sovereignty.  Maybe the Federal government shouldn’t be involved with everything and the states should be allowed to live how they wanna live.  That way, Georgia could be Georgia.  California could be California.  New York could be New York.  And we will all get along.

Russia Interferring with Our Elections

Posted by Troy on 5th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

Trapper and Obama keep saying Russia has interfered with our elections.  I find it very telling that he doesn’t point out that Mexico and the UN also interfered with our elections.  Let’s examine their claim.

1 – Let’s assume that Russia did hack our election.  First of all, there is evidence that the Russians tried to hack both the Democrats and the Republicans.  The Republicans were smart and didn’t fall for it, and the Democrats were dumb as shit and did.  That’s pretty telling right there.

2 – All of the hacks were basically true statements of what Hillary and the DNC think of Americans.

3 – Nothing was said about Mexico, the UN, and other countries that wanted Hillary to win and Trump to lose.

4 – Nothing is said about us interfering with Russia’s election or Israel’s election.

5 – Nothing is mentioned of the news media and Hollywood interfering with our elections, and they did so with false statements regarding Trump and misconstruing what he said.

So… if you tell the truth about how a candidate really feels about you… that’s interfering.  If you lie… that’s okay.

Again, it all comes down to what side you are on.  No Liberal had any trouble with all the leaks, unfounded allegations, and leaks.  If someone had Trump’s tax return, they would have been heralded as heroes.

Lame.  Just sooooooo lame.  #sorelosers!

Obama and Putin… “It’s…complicated.”

Posted by Troy on 29th December 2016 in Current Events, Political

So Obama hit Russia with some non-effective, but insulting, sanctions.  In particular, closing a couple of Russian facilities and expelling 35 Russian diplomats is really a slap in the face, diplomatically.  Let’s review…

Obama comes into office thinking that he could improve relations with Russia.  He tells the Russians they can build more nukes while we will not and removes the plans for expanding missile defense in eastern Europe, leaving our allies saying… “What the hell, America?”  He sends Hillary over there with her “Reset” button.  What does that get us?

Russia invades the Crimea.  Russia props up Assad.  Russia conspires with China to undermine the dollar as the world currency.  Russia buzzes our military ships and airplanes, flirting with our airspace.

Does Obama have any real issues so far?  Nope.  Not with the espionage, or anything else.

In 2015, he discovers that Russia is trying to influence our elections.  He sternly tells Vlady:  “Hey…Knock it off.”

Woooo…Vlad was scared!  Big, tough Obama said… “Knock it off.”  OMG… if Vlad disobeys there will be… well, there will be pretty much no consequences because Obama is the weakest, most feckless leader we’ve had in a long while.  Obama said he didn’t want to do anything because he was sure Clinton was going to win anyway…but she didn’t.

Little backstory, Hillary supported the Vlad protesters back when he was running for President–trying to influence THEIR election.  So, this could very well be payback.  Or not.  The RNC had hack attacks too, the same as Podesta…they just weren’t stupid enough to fall for it.  So Russia could have simply wanted to embarrass anyone they could.  Assuming that they are behind it at all, which I’m iffy on, honestly.

But Obama was willing to let it go…as long as Hillary won, because he didn’t want to appear partisan.  I hate to say this, but there’s no way that this man could NOT seem partisan.  At every turn, he has demonized Republicans.  When he won, he basically told them that he won the election and could do whatever he damn well pleased and refused to work with Republicans, preferring to try to demonize and shame them in the media instead.  When he couldn’t get his way, he just started signing executive orders.  His behavior is pretty much the cause of the Democrats losing the Senate, which cost Obama the chance to appoint a 5th, Liberal judge to the Supreme Court.  Now, Trump comes in with majorities in the House and Senate.  Trump will get to appoint the next Justice.  All of those sweet little executive orders are a pen swipe away from oblivion.  Obama is the architect of his own demise.  He has managed to reduce his own reign to a footnote:  “*Obama – the first President of African descent.”  That’s all he will be now.  And he did it to himself with his own arrogance.

So he’s doing what any spoiled child would do when he doesn’t get his way.  He is throwing a temper-tantrum.  He is chastising Israel.  He is destroying records of Muslim refugees which were being monitored.  And he’s hitting up Russia.  Why?  To make sure that Trump has as much going wrong as possible.  Obama will not have anyone outshine him.  He will NOT have Trump come in and just win win win.  Obama said he would take it as a personal insult if people didn’t vote in Hillary…and he meant it.

But the real thing is he is setting a trap for Trump.  If Trump reverses this decision, the media and Obama will say that it’s proof that Trump is a Russian pawn.  If Trump doesn’t, Russian relations will continue to deteriorate, leading to possible war or other strife.

I always knew that Obama’s ego knew no bounds, and the last few months are living proof.  He is willing to subject millions of people to war, death, and hardships just because his pride is hurt.

I look forward to Trump flipping the script and making himself look good and Obama look like the immature amateur he always was.

A Comprehensive Analysis of the Electoral College Overturning the Election

Posted by Troy on 15th December 2016 in Current Events, Political

It is amazing how so many Democrats have started espousing the wisdom of the Constitution after spending my entire life explaining to me what an outdated document it is!  So the basic premise is that the Republican electors should choose someone other than Donald Trump due to Hamilton’s writings in Federalist Paper #68 in which he said that the Electoral College is meant to safeguard against a demagogue taking power.  Naturally, Democrats view Donald Trump as an unqualified demagogue while Barak Obama was the smartest man to ever take office.  But that’s neither here nor there.

First, let’s look at History.  When was the Constitution written?  It was after the Articles of Confederation failed.  What was a major issue of this failure?  All states got the same vote (one vote a piece).  As such, Virginia (the richest, most populous state) had the same say as Georgia (the smallest state, population-wise).  This really annoyed the Virginians.  Regardless, the Articles of Confederation failed, and the Electoral College (along with the bicameral nature of the legislature) was a way to strike a balance between state sovereignty and population.  Now, originally, any number of people could run for President (they still can, in theory, but not in reality).  The top two became President and Vice President, accordingly.  This was changed with the Twelfth Amendment after the President and Vice-President of different parties were chosen, causing much chaos.  But the original intent was this:  In a race between six candidates, it was possible a demagogue could troll the bottom 20% of the population and win, whereas the other, qualified candidates only got 16% each.

Now, with the two party system, this is no longer the case.  You would have to argue that 46% of the population is stupid and deserve to have their vote overturned.  Now, this truly is the Left’s belief.  They really do look down at those living in rural areas.  Ergo, the will of that huge red swath between New York and California mean little to them.  As Marx said, the city folk need to save the country folk from their own stupidity (look it up if you don’t believe me).  And this is what Hollywood believes.  Oh, those poor, backwards, red-neck, inbreeds.  They don’t know how stupid they are.  They need a benevolent dictator to do what’s in their best self-interest.  They’re too dumb to know what’s good for them.  [Google C.S. Lewis and Robber Barons for a GREAT quote of the tyranny that's for our own good...it never ends.]

So, what if the Left got its way?

Well, if the election was given to Hillary: Civil War.  No joke.  That’s what we’re talking about.  At least a couple of million dead.

If the Democrats all voted for a Establishment Republican and enough Republicans joined forces to elect a Jeb Bush (etc): The death of the Republican Party.  It should also kill the Democrat party, but it won’t.  They’ll forgive them because “They saved us from Trump.”

But even if Civil War was averted, it will be the end of American elections.  Why bother voting?  The Electoral College will choose who is president regardless of our wishes.  It is the appearance of a representative democracy, only.  It is a farce.  They will allow your vote as long as it pleases the powers that be.  Once that genie is released, it will never be put back in the bottle.

Even if you believe that Russia wanted Trump to win…seriously…do you think Putin didn’t want Barack to win?  The wide-eyed idealist with zero experience and the spine reminiscent of an earthworm over a war-hardened veteran like McCain or a savvy business tycoon that understood the threat Russia posed?  Ha!  Putin ran circles around Barak, and Putin loved that Barack won both times.  Hillary posed little problem for Putin, so I doubt he worried too much about her gaining power anyway.  But even if you think Russia views Trump as the better option…which is the best option for us: Four years of Trump as President or civil war?  Because that’s your choice, peeps.  Choose wisely.

The Russians are Coming!!!!!

Posted by Troy on 13th December 2016 in Current Events, Political

If you went back and told Second Grade me that I would feel the media was too rough on the Russians when I was 38, I’d think you’re crazy…but here we are.

The White House admits that there is no link between the Russian government and the e-mail hacks.  But that’s not good enough for Democrats, whose belief system seems to be “Whatever it takes to get rid of Trump or de-legitimize him.”

1 – Hamilton did speak about the Electoral College being used to prevent a disqualified person from taking office.  I disagree with this interpretation (even though it appears in the Federalist Papers, which I love).  Hamilton was a bit imperial.  There is talk of two political beliefs in America:  The Jeffersons who believe in the People and their collective wisdom and the Hamiltons who believe that the People need to be ruled and protected from themselves.  I think this Federalist Paper was Hamilton being Hamilton.  The Electoral College was actually created as a mechanism by which the smaller states would agree to join the union.  While it still gives sway to the larger states, it ensures that the smaller states will still have a say in the affairs of the country.  I fail to see any situation where by the Electoral College overturning an election would not end in civil war.  Even if the people vote wrong, it is far better to just put up with their error for four years rather than have a small body overturn their decision.  That and to overturn this election would take nearly 40 electors turning.  That would just be incredible, and a clear repudiation of the will of the people.

2 – Did ya notice how none of the Democrats seemed to care when Mexico tried to influence our elections?  Do you remember that?  What about the UN?  What about other foreign countries that weighed in on our election?  When all these countries and outside parties were talking trash about Trump?  Well, that was all honky dory when it was benefiting Hillary.  Every country, friend or foe, tries to influence our elections.  Likewise, we try to influence their elections.  This administration tried to get Netanyahu ousted in his election  We tried to defeat an ally in favor of a group that actually hates America.  And no one said anything.  Oh well, right?  Remember when we overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran?  Good times!

3 – What did the hacks tell us?  That the DNC plotted to screw Bernie over?  We already knew that.  That Hillary has zero energy?  We already knew that.  That she sold influence?  We already knew that.  That she has utter disdain for the average American?  We already knew that.  So tell me…how did these hacks influence the election?  By confirming what we already suspected of Hillary?

4 – It is troubling that maybe Russia preferred Trump.  Of course, it could be that Russia wanted to weaken Hillary’s presidency (assuming she would win as everyone else did).  Maybe it was personal.  Maybe Putin feared reprisals for making Hillary look like a dithering old fool with her “Reset” button.  Maybe Putin just hates Hillary.  Maybe the Russian government has nothing to do with it?  Hackers are kind of Chaotic Neutral.  Who knows what their motivation is.  However, I will judge Trump’s presidency by his actions.  If he sells America out in favor for Russia, that’s called Treason.  He will be impeached and probably hanged, and he will deserve it.  I doubt all of this.

5 – I don’t believe 1% of Trump supporters would change their votes based on Russia being behind the DNC hacks.  As such, he still would have won.

Democrats need to get their adult pants on and learn how to deal.  California and New York need to get over themselves.  They are populous.  They are big.  But they do not reflect the values and beliefs of this nation.  Roughly 3,000 of 3,200 counties voted for Trump.  If Democrats really though about it, this should convince them in having a small Federal government.  As one person put it: “I can’t feel sorry for people who want an all-powerful government and can’t conceive that one day someone they don’t like might be in power.”

Trump Not Prosecuting Hillary

Posted by Troy on 22nd November 2016 in Current Events, Political

This is something that has been troubling me for about a week.

Hillary Clinton broke the law, and she should be punished for it.

That being said, Trump is coming into a country that has been deeply divided.  He has been painted as a fascist.  There are people rioting in the streets.  Intellectuals are offering the concept that the Electoral College should overturn the results of the election.

The most important thing to him and for the country is that we begin to heal and be reunited.  If he goes after Hillary, nothing will get done, and we will remain divided.  That being said, he is basically spitting in the face of all of those who supported him.

If it were me, I would prosecute her.  Never compromise, even in the face of Armageddon.  Right is right.  Wrong is wrong.  However, this is not Trump’s modus operandi.  He is a deal-maker.  As such, I can understand his point of view.  And I will admit that his way is the correct way to bring us back together.  In that regards, I will scowl and turn my back.  As I said of Osama bin Laden: I really don’t care if he is brought to justice.  I know that one day, he will die.  And he will face justice.  Hillary is a 70-year-old who had just had her soul utterly crushed by the election.  Her health is obviously a wreck.  Soon, she shall die, and she shall face the judgement of God for any and all of her offenses.

We MUST reunite as a country.  We MUST remember WHO WE ARE.  We must do these things quickly, or all will be lost.  To that end, I shall let this go.

But he better the hell not put someone on the Supreme Court that won’t uphold the Second Amendment.

Long Live the Constitution!

But but…Hillary Won the Popular Vote!!!!

Posted by Troy on 21st November 2016 in Current Events, Political

So what?  The contest was for the Electoral College, not the popular vote.  If a football team got 400 yards and scored once during a game and their opponent got 200 yards…but managed to score twice off those 200 yards… guess who won.

1 – The idea that Hillary won the popular vote is moronic.  If anything, it proves that she didn’t run a good campaign.  She liked fundraising and holding events in friendly places and all but ignored the sea of Red that is the heartland.  Obviously, she didn’t know how to allocate her time effectively.  Trump would have run a different campaign if he needed the popular vote, and he may have won the popular vote if that was the goal.

2 – Some states stop counting absentee ballots if there is no need, so her popular vote gulf is overstated.

3 – It doesn’t matter because the Constitution states that the Electoral College is how the President is chosen.  There is no way to undo this.  Even if you passed a Constitutional Amendment tomorrow, it would only be good going forward.  Of course, I suppose that you could get 30+ electors to switch their vote, but that would surely lead to civil war.

Everyone is upset about the Electoral College.  Let me explain the Electoral College so that it makes sense: The founders wanted THE STATES to choose the President.  So it is THE STATES that vote for the President, not the people.  Now, every state allows their people to choose who the state will vote for.  Whenever you want to understand the Constitution, remember this:  The Founders wanted to balance the three forces: The States, the People, and the Federal government.  The House of Representatives is for the People.  The Senate was to represent the States (and it should go back to being chosen by State Legislatures, but that will never happen because people are too ignorant to understand why the Founders did anything).  Inside the government, checks and balances are used to prevent any function of government from taking control.  But this is a story for a different time.

Teen carrying Hillary sign chased by mob

Posted by Troy on 15th November 2016 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

Today in Brunswick, GA, a black teen carrying a Hillary flag was chased by a mob of 45 white students who tackled the boy and took the flag.  School officials blamed the black teen for inciting a riot and threatened him with being charged as such.  Outrageous!  Right?  So what makes it less outrageous when I change the Hillary flag to a Trump flag and swap the races of the teens involved?

You may say that the teen knew it was going to get a rise out of his classmates, but what does that matter?  All he did was carry a flag with the name of the President-Elect on it.  Literally, he did NOTHING wrong.  Either you are for freedom of speech, or you are not.  You have to pick one.  This teen was exercising his freedom of speech, and he got mobbed for it.  To excuse the mob’s behavior is to say that you expect less from blacks (or liberals).  So, I ask you…how are YOU not racist for thinking so low of them?  How are you not fascist for being against freedom of speech?  I hold everyone to the same set of standards.  Also, it is high time that people stop allowing the irrationality and inappropriate responses of others to act as an unspoken tyranny against our freedom of speech.
