“Let’s Not Normalize Trump’s Presidency”

Posted by Troy on 26th February 2017 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

What does that even mean?

Trump was elected as a part of a free election.  They can try to say that Russia influenced the election, but let’s be clear, Russia influenced the election about as much as a man pissing in the ocean contributes to global warming.  The people that voted for Trump despised Hillary Clinton.  Sorry, but that is the truth.  If Democrats had run Jim Webb, they probably would have won.

So if you accept the fact that Trump legitimately won the election, you have to also agree that refusing to normalize his presidency is way more fascist than Trump has been to date.  Basically, what you are saying is that you refuse to accept the results of the election if the person you wanted lost.  If you say, “Yeah, but I’m against everything that Trump stands for, and I don’t like what it says about our country.”  Guess what…that’s the way we felt when Obama won and led us further down the road of Socialism.  Boom.  Grow up.

However, the Left’s leadership and media allies started this “don’t normalize” movement as a way to close people’s minds.  I have no issue with the Left obstructing things they disagree with–like the wall or even the “Muslim Ban.”  But when you move to obstruct 100% of the agenda and refuse to try to work with the administration, refuse to meet, refuse to talk, refuse even on topics you actually agree with, then you have become ideological.  This may work with the hardcore left, but you are going to completely lose people in the middle.  If everything is a crisis, then nothing is a crisis.

John McCain – Airing the Family’s Dirty Laundry

Posted by Troy on 20th February 2017 in Current Events, Political

I am all for freedom of speech.  Say whatever you want.  However, when you are overseas, SHUT YOUR MOUTH.  When you are talking to our allies and our enemies, you show a united front.  In a strong family, a husband and wife, a brother or sister, a parent and child may be fighting like rabid dogs, but publically, they show solidarity.  McCain should be saying things like “Divided?  Oh, don’t believe everything you hear on the news.  Our country is united and stronger than ever.”  Instead, he is trashing our President.  I also got onto the Dixie Chicks when they did this overseas regarding President George W. Bush.  Again, say anything you want at home.  When you’re out in the world, you do not trash your family.  You do not trash your country.  Doing so isn’t just in bad taste.  It emboldens our enemies and makes our allies frightful.  McCain, of all people, should know this.

When the CIA becomes the KGB – The Michael Flynn Saga

Posted by Troy on 15th February 2017 in Entertainment, Political

I hate to break it to CNN and the Democrats, but I have a feeling that most people are not all that concerned about Michael Flynn’s phone call.  It seems common sense and natural that an in-coming administration would talk to diplomats to establish relationships and start forging ahead.  The people really upset about this are the same people that chose to look the other way at the Fast and Furious, IRS scandal, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, and countless other gross violations.

Release the transcript.

That’s how you know that whatever said was pretty tame.  In this “Anti-Trump” environment, if it was actually something noteworthy, it would have been plastered all over the front page.

In regards to Michael Flynn, I will wait to pass any judgement until I see the transcript.  I assume that this is politicians playing politics.  Until I see some sort of proof that he actually said anything of note, I will not get excited.

However, what makes me afraid is this:

People are claiming that un-elected government workers should thwart foes foreign and domestic. Well, I agree.  It’s every citizen’s duty to defend the Constitution, but Trump had done nothing of the sort.  To date, he has done more to recognize the Constitution than any President I have seen in my adult life.  I remember Obama constantly assaulting the Constitution.  Bear in mind, he had more 0 to 9 decisions (including two Justices that HE appointed!) than any other President in history.

Transference/Projection:

Trump and his supporters are fascists that will be rioting in the street if he loses!  Well, it would seem that Hillary supporters are the ones that cannot accept the results of the election.  They are the ones that are rioting in the streets and hitting people and burning things.  Nothing says you are anti-fascist like beating the shit outta people that don’t share your beliefs.

Michael Flynn gave speeches to the Russians!  Yeah…and Bill gave speeches to them for millions of dollars in advance of 25% of the North American supply of uranium being sold to Russia.

The Left praised Bush for not getting involved in criticizing the next President.  Meanwhile, Obama sets up an organization and affiliates himself with groups funding the professional rioters.

The Left likes to portray Trump supporters as belligerent morons.  Yet, if they ever bring themselves to actually have a political discussion with me or any other Trump supporter, it quickly turns into the leftist just screaming.

The Left claims that Trump is delivering us into the hands of the Russians, and the Russians are trying to make us lose faith in our institutions.  Yeah, like California succeeding wouldn’t work against us.  No people can be conquered if they are united.  I have never seen us so fractured.  Instead of trying to come together at all, the Left is driving their base into a frenzy and sowing seeds of hatred among them.  What has Trump done to divide us anywhere on the scale of what I just mentioned?  In fact, considering the vile and extreme sentiments aimed at him constantly, his responses have been very mute and restrained.  To the regular people who spew bile at him, he has been completely silent.

Meanwhile, while all of this is going on, Trump’s administration is cracking down on Russia at the UN.  Mattis is getting NATO to actually fund more for their own defense.  Japan and Israel seem thrilled at our new President.  You can tell by their body language that when Trump says America stands behind their allies, they believe him–whereas Obama’s promises of support were mere bluff.  Just ask the Syrians what red-lines drawn by Obama meant.

What I fear is that the CIA really is the shadow-government that conspiracy theorists claim.  Do as they say, or they will destroy you.  This is dangerous.  If this is true, this means that no one is safe.  Also, there are protections in place to protect American citizens even if the CIA is tapping Russian diplomats (which they always are–just as we are always interfering in the elections of Russia, Israel, Canada, England…).  Given the time that these taps were happening, this means that Obama or one of his higher level minions spied on their political opponents.  You want to talk about Soviet Russia?

I don’t fear the Russians.  I have shot Russian ammunition.  After you do so, you will understand that Russia is no real threat.

If an operative shows up with plans for Trump to declare martial law, I will applaud them.  If someone assassinates a President that declares martial law, I will applaud them.  But what is happening here is that things are being leaked to undermine Trump’s Presidency.  They want him to look weak and stupid and hurt our international relations.  Why?  Because Trump is a danger to our country?  What seems to be a bigger danger to our country?  One man which is subject to the checks and balances that have kept us a free people for close to 250 years?  Or does it seem more likely that fomenting civil unrest, pitting countryman against countryman, undermining the trust of our allies, and emboldening our enemies?  Is having the world on fire worth making Trump look bad?  Bear in mind, you either want blood in the streets or Trump to lose in four years.  WOW!  Yey!  That’s all you will get if you are successful.  A weaker country.  That’s what you want.  Just for a better chance of beating one man at one election in four years.

To anyone that thinks I am being inconsistent, here is the difference between what is happening and Wiki-Leaks: Wiki-Leaks was a private group.  I also think they should be held accountable for their illegal acts.  That does not mean that I will not consider the information that is provided out of something that is obtained illegally.  Truth must be regarded, but those those broke the law must be held to account.  But this is a government agency working against its political opponents.  That is dangerous.  This is what makes totalitarian regimes.  If Flynn broke a law, he should face the punishment.  But I am MUCH more concerned about the government acting to suppress their political prisoners.

Riots, Martial Law, and other Lunacy

Posted by Troy on 2nd February 2017 in Current Events, Human Nature, Political

My dad always said, “If you start yelling, you’ve lost the argument.”  Yelling is the result of having run out of logical response and resorting to pure emotion.  I want to talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome.  Brett Hume coined the term after seeing people flipping out over Trump’s presidency.

Here’s some things that I’ve seen since that November day.  I’ve see Rosie O’Donnell recommending martial law.  I’ve been numerous faked hate crimes.  I’ve seen Sarah Silverman ask for a military coup.  I’ve seen California want to secede.  I’ve seen riots at Milo speaking events.  I’ve seen violence in the streets.  I’ve seen Madonna talk about burning down the White House.  I’ve seen Tim Kaine promote fighting in the streets.  All the while, people talking about fascism, white nationalism, how Trump’s view of America is dark, and all the while demanding that we come back together.

I don’t think people see the irony.  Martial law?  Military coup?  Beating the hell out of people?  These are the very essence of fascism.  Well…let’s be honest.  The Nazi party was a national socialist party.  Fascism is where the government sets prices.  What people confuse fascism with is authoritarianism.  The hallmark of an such regime is violence and force.  The Brown Shirts were the misinformed mob that went around an beat the shit out of anyone opposing their views.  Right now…gotta say that “the resistance” is looking a lot more like Brown Shirts.

As far as California wanting to secede…what arrogance!  You lost one bloody election.  If you had some wisdom about you, you might want to invoke the Tenth Amendment.  You might demand that the Federal government be responsible for less and individual states be responsible for me.  You might want to run your state how you want to run your state and let Georgia run their state.  But no…if you can’t inflict other’s with how you wish a state to be run, you will not be happy.  Why can’t you see the virtue that the Founding Fathers found in letting each state run their own affairs as long as it falls within the confines of the Constitution?

How can anyone take Democrats seriously when they talk about how dark Trump’s vision of America is when it’s the Democrats view that ONE ELECTION MEANS NAZISM?  How do you get darker than that?  How do I take you seriously on the grounds of “white nationalism” when you have preached black nationalism, Latino nationalism, gay nationalism, etc etc etc…when all a nation means is a group of people that identify as a group…something the left has enforced with militant vigor for my entire life?  How can you possibly promote any sort of unity when you say that a full 48% of the country are either white supremacists, misogynists, racists, or pathetic morons?  That is the general theory of the Trump election…is it not?  How can you “come together” with Nazis?  Did “Love Trumps Hate” end just because of one election?  It’s sad and it’s pathetic.

What makes more sense to you?  People you have known and loved your entire life that voted for Trump are closet Nazis OR that you are being mislead and riled up?  Which makes more sense?

You want to come together?  You want to change minds?  Try sitting down with one of these beloved friends and ask them “Why did you vote for Trump?”  Try to actually understand their point of view.  I don’t think I’ve ever thought, outright, that someone opposed my view due to them being stupid or hating America or any other stupid reason.  I have always assumed that their life journey has lead them to a viewpoint.  I generally understand their viewpoint.  I just disagree with their viewpoint, but in no case have I ever decided to hate someone for their viewpoint.  I have never yelled at someone for their viewpoint.  I have never insulted someone for their viewpoint.  I will say that in the vast majority of political discussions I have had with someone of an opposing viewpoint, those have been the end result  towards me.

Learn to listen.  You may learn something.  Maybe you will change your mind.  If not, at least you will learn that the other side is not full of monsters or full of hate.  You will learn that they have their reasons.  Communication and compassion, if anything, will bring us back together.  It’s like I always say…once you understand someone, it’s impossible to be mad at them.

The Supreme Court Nominee and Hypocrites

Posted by Troy on 1st February 2017 in Current Events, Political

So I get to see Chuck Shumer talking about how the Supreme Court is too important not to have bipartisan support.  Gee…like the overhaul of our medical system (ie, 18% of our economy)?  I also remember how Democrats raged at Republicans being “obstructionists.”  I remember Obama constantly trashing Fox News and talk radio.  I see them foaming at the mouths because they can’t filibuster the cabinet seats (thank Harry Reid) and railing about using the nuclear option for the Supreme Court.  Hey…guys…MAD.  Mutually Assured Destruction.  That is the deterrent from using nukes.  Maybe you should have contemplated MAD when you invoked something EVEN YOU called “the nuclear option.”  Once someone pulls a nuke, the other is going to pull a nuke.  It’s WHY YOU DON’T PULL A NUKE!!!!!  Please write this down.  If you have trouble understanding it, I want you to read and re-read that over and over so that you might understand.

That being said, Republicans are being a little hypocritical at this juncture.  While the Democrats have taking “obstruction” to the point of absolute lunacy (and it’s backfiring as they look more and more foolish…learn to pick your battles, seriously), Republicans demanding a straight up and down vote on the Supreme Court nominee is laughable.  While they did follow prior tradition of not approving a nominee in an election year, it is very clear that they exercised their discretion and their power to do so.  If the Democrats were in charge of the Senate, they could have confirmed someone virtually overnight.  The reason for this is because the Democrats are unable to come up with a platform that the vast swath of States can get behind (otherwise, they would AMEND THE CONSTITUTION).  Instead, they rely on activist judges to do their bidding.  Why pass laws and take the heat?  Why go to all the trouble of actually AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION when you can have the Supreme Court just tell us that the Constitution suddenly changed!  The Senate never has to approve a new judge.  It’s part of the checks and balances system.  ”But that undermines the Supreme Court!  We need nine justices!”  No, we don’t.  We started out only having six (an even number).  Not having an odd number means nothing.  All it means is you might have a tie (which happens from time to time even with an odd number).  In this case, the lower court’s ruling stands.  If the people don’t like it, they will vote their Senator out and replace him.  Example: You have Democratic President and a Republican Senate.  The people believe that if a Democrat places a justice on the Supreme Court they will undo the 2nd Amendment.  As such, they continually put in Republican Senators that never appoint the Democratic appointee.  Is it distasteful?  Possibly, but you do see how this becomes a check and balance.  It is possible that a party may obtain an electoral majority while possibly having vast opposition from the majority of states.

So do I want the Republicans to enact the nuclear option?

No.  First, I’d like to go back to having NO CLOTURE.  As mentioned above, pulling nukes lead to more nukes.  This is super early in Trump’s Presidency.  There are 38 Democrats.  The longest filibuster was 24 hours and 18 minutes set by Strom Thurman.  Say what you will…he was old school.  I doubt any of these whimps could last more than 20 hours.  So that means that the absolute longest they could hold out would be 38 days.  So, let’s do this.  ”Okay, filibuster.  While you are talking, we will be reading the laws that the House has been passing while you blather on and on.”  Pay them no attention.  At the end of the day, take the CSPAN footage and just put together a compilation of every stupid thing they say.  Make it a YouTube sensation.  Mash it up with video clips (etc) a la Water’s World.  Just absolutely mock the shit out of them.  Meanwhile, they are making themselves look dumber and dumber with each passing day.  I doubt it lasts more then ten days.

That is what they should do go ahead and start the hearings, and let’s go.
