Harry Reid Killed Bi-Partisanship

Posted by Troy on 30th January 2017 in Political

There, I said it.  At the alter of Obama, Harry Reid took the sacrificial pen and created the nuclear option whereby cloture required a mere 51 votes.  In other words, as long as you have enough votes to pass the law, you can pass the law.  This was not the purpose of cloture.  Cloture was to make sure that a law was amenable.  Let’s look at the original purpose of the Senate and of the filibuster.

The Senate was originally meant to represent the interest of the STATES.  The PEOPLE got the HOUSE.  The STATES got the SENATE.  Federal laws were meant to be limited in scope and states were allowed to more or less do their own thing within certain parameters.  Really, what is the purpose of the Senate?  Treaties and confirmations and a few other items…but past that, it’s just an additional hurdle and doesn’t really have any real difference over the House other than just having fewer people you have to talk to, I suppose.  This is a moot point.  I can only convince about 10% of the population that the Senate should be picked by the states.  It’s just never going to happen.

The filibuster was unlimited.  If one person wanted to filibuster, they could.  And they should.  Each Senator should have a right to speak until he is horse in defiance of a law that will hurt his state.  That’s his job.  To try to protect his state.  But people couldn’t take not having their way, so we went from no cloture, to 75 votes, to 66 votes, to 60 votes, and now to 51 votes.  The next is to just do away with it all together.

I had some vague hope that the Republicans would reinstall the filibuster.  However, now I see that it will never be reinstalled.  As soon as one party did away with it, it was gone.  What fool would say “Okay, you took away the filibuster when you were in charge, but we will put it back in place now that we are in charge?”  It just doesn’t make sense because that side would filibuster you non-stop, and once they got back into power, they would do away with the filibuster again and ramrod their agenda down the people’s throat, yet again.

What this means is that now neither side has to play nice.  Neither side has to find people that both sides find acceptable.  Barring a case where the President and Senate are opposing parties, there will never be any cooperation from hence forth.

It’s a shame.  I hope people start reading the Founding Fathers and understanding their wisdom.

The Lie of Free Trade

Posted by Troy on 28th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

Trump talks about free trade and fair trade.

All the conservative pundits talk about free trade as some sort of holy attainment.

Now I’m about to bring the truth.

There is no such thing as fair trade.

What do I mean by that?  Well, first of all, each country has different resources and cultures.  Some are going to be better positioned than others.  For instance, when Adam Smith wrote the Wealth of Nations, he spoke about China and how poorly developed it was compared to European countries.  The main cause for this was the governmental, institutional, and cultural powers that existed at the time.  He remarked how China’s economy had remained virtually stagnant for centuries and would probably continue as such until such time as the features changed and allowed China to expand.  As such, one country will be more powerful and will have greater trading power than another.  America is this country.  As the most industrious and wealthy country on the planet, it controls much in regards to trade.

All that aside, what do these free-trade puritans mean?

Ahem.  Well, by free-trade, what we mean is that there should be no artificial barriers to trade between countries.  More or less, we are against boycotts, banned goods, and tariffs.

Oh.  Well, that’s good… but what about the minimum wage?

Pardon?

You know.  The minimum wage, OSHA, the EPA, regulations, standards, and so on and so on and so on.

I’m sorry…I really don’t follow.

Well, you want America to have free trade with China.  What do we have in America?  We have minimum wage laws.  China doesn’t [at least, not to the extent that we do].  China manipulates their currency.  China dumps coal pollution all over the place.  China doesn’t care about worker safety.  China doesn’t care if their products are made with toxic materials.  Given this, China is sure to make a product at less cost than an American product.  So how is this free-trade?  By declaring free-trade in an environment where two countries have vastly different economic environments, one will be the winner and the other will be the loser.  In this case, America will be the loser.  And even if the American product somehow survives, Congress will pass a law making the American product illegal, forcing people to buy the Chinese product, but forbid American companies from making the Chinese product because it is too toxic.  [Seriously, this is EXACTLY what happened when Congress made the freakin' incandescent bulb illegal].

Now, if you wanted to remove all the barriers in America and do away with the minimum wage and other such things and let the market decide how much a job pays; let the market decide how much pollution that a company can get away with before the citizens say “enough;” then I can go along with this; but you don’t want to do that.  Little known fact, Switzerland doesn’t have a minimum wage, but they have a very high standard of living.

Here’s an idea for free-trade/fair-trade that levels the playing field.  Why don’t we set tariffs based on the country?  For instance, Canada and the United States are very similar, so we will trade freely with them.  But why don’t we have standards that say “You have to have a reasonable minimum wage, or we will hit you with a 3% tariff.  If you produce more than x tons of carbon emissions per 100,000 citizens, we hit you with a 4% tariff.  This would actually make for fairer trade while also promoting our values.

Right now, the concept of free-trade is a globalist ideal.  The current set up favors a “spread the wealth” mentality as it outsources the production of more developed countries into less developed countries.  The side-effects of this is that it enforces the welfare state.  As these manufacturing jobs are lost, we will get cheaper goods.  Yey!  I can buy a pillow for $2 less.  Whoop dee doo.  The stockholders of the corporations get richer.  Of course, there are more unemployed and under-employed.  So you have to have a high tax on the corporate shareholders and redistribute the wealth so that pillow labor that you put out of work will have enough cash to buy that pillow for $2 less from China that will give him cancer because they used lead dust to clean the feathers.  Yey!

What I hope Trump teaches liberals

Posted by Troy on 26th January 2017 in Uncategorized

Harry Reid got rid of the filibuster because the Republicans got in the way of Obama’s dream.  Now that Trump is President, they decry the lack of the filibuster and want to bring it back.

When President Obama signed executive order after executive order, liberals cheered and defended it because Republicans were getting in the way of Obama’s dream.  Now that Trump is in charge and signing executive order after executive over, they are going nuts with worry and scorn.

Finally, liberals talk about how Trump is Hitler.  Trump will NEVER be Hitler.  Know why?  because Hitler got rid of the guns first.  As long as the Second Amendment stands, there can never be a Hitler in America.

In short, I hope that Trump’s Presidency teaches liberals the wisdom of the Founding Fathers.  There was a reason why they made the system to prevent sweeping change.  There was a reason why the Constitution is concerned with what the government cannot do to you.  There’s a reason why the the Constitution is a document restraining governmental power and protecting the individual’s rights.  It does not empower government.  It restricts government.  It doesn’t tell you what the government will do FOR you, it tells you what the government CAN’T to do to you.

I doubt that they will learn these lessons, but I hope these are the lessons liberals take away from the Trump presidency.  It’s a vain hope, but it’s a hope.

Protesting Trump is LARPing for Liberals

Posted by Troy on 21st January 2017 in Current Events, Political

In LARPing, otherwise normal people (typically guys) dress up as warriors and wizards and fight a giant cardboard box box that’s a “dragon.”  This gives them the opportunity to pretend that they are powerful and brave without endangering themselves because the dragon isn’t a real dragon.  You can tell it’s not a real dragon by the fact that the dragon didn’t kill them.

I realize now that the same thing is going on with Trump.  Trump, according to Liberals, is if Hitler and Satan had a child.  So, Trump is a Nazi.  Trump is Hitler.  The so-brave liberals show up and protest Trump.  This leads them to feel powerful and brave without endangering themselves because Trump isn’t Hitler.  You can tell he’s not Hitler because Hitler would have killed them all.

Let’s be frank.  If Trump was Hitler, then liberals had best pray for rednecks.  It would be up to the rednecks to overthrow such a regime.  Just saying.  These protesters would be nowhere to be seen.

The Left and the Media is doing everything in their power to twist everything that Trump does and says–which is what they’ve been doing since the beginning.  Then you have protesters burning the American flag and smashing windows and beating people up.  You think this is going to win people over to your side?

Let’s examine the whole Hitler reference.

Hitler was a rebel-rouser.  Trump ran a billion-dollar company.  Obama was a community organizer.  Who sounds more like Hitler?

Hitler claimed pollution was the biggest threat.  Who does that sound more like?

Nazis burned down a bar and blamed the opposition.  Think of all the faked hate crimes.

Nazis had a gun ban (with a gun registry to start).

Nazis gave nationalized healthcare.

Nazis had guaranteed work.

Nazis had guaranteed, state-paid vacations.

Obama wanted a domestic security force as strong and as well-funded as the US Military.

Obama wanted compulsory volunteering (oxymoron).

The Left worried that Trump wouldn’t accept the election results.  After they lost, they refused to accept the election results.

They worried Trump supporters would riot and turn to violence.  The Left is the one that turned to rioting and violence.  My God!  Could you imagine if a bunch of Republicans showed up at the Obama inauguration and beat the hell out of his supporters?  What if a bunch of white kids kidnapped a special needs black child and beat the snot out of him?  The Left would have lost their minds.  Instead, what we here is “Well, we’re here to protest, and while I don’t approve of what they did, I can understand why they did beat the shit out of Trump supporters.”

The Left complains about fake news…but then actively creates fake news to smear Trump.

At some point… dawg, look in a friggin’ mirror.

Trump is not Hitler.

You are not a level 18 Red Wizard.  You’re just someone throwing a temper tantrum.

YouTube would have stopped Hilter

Posted by Troy on 20th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

The Left better had hope that Trump turns into the monster the Left has painted him as.  If he doesn’t round up Muslims and try to re-educate LG-BLT peeps, then they’re just gonna look stupid.  but I’ve already decided that they are going to say, “Our resistance saved us!”  Yes…because all it would have taken to stop Hitler is a bunch of celebs on YouTube.

Eight years ago, the Media spoke of Obama as though the Messiah had returned.  This is because they had lost any true spirituality in them, and so they had turned to the false idols of the Earth, hoping for a Savior that will not come.  It is the once and future king syndrome.  This is why CNN mused about how if Trump and Pence both died today, the Kingdom of Obama would continue, a Kingdom without end.  They fail to comprehend that their own rejection of the religious had forced their spirit to convert their politics into a religion.

Contrast to today.  Trump is Hitler.  ”America first” is racial (somehow…despite us being the most racially diverse country on the planet).  Trump failed to acknowledge Hillary.  What the hell was he gonna say.  ”Ah…there she is!  If that bitch hadn’t lost, I wouldn’t be President!”  Bear in mind, if he acknowledged her, they would have asked why he didn’t acknowledge that she won the popular vote.  If he he acknowledged that, they would have demanded that he step-aside and let her rule.

The Left feared he wouldn’t accept the election results.  The Left didn’t accept the election results.

The Left feared Trump supporters would riot if he lost.  The Left has caused property damage and attacked Trump supporters.  But to the Left, such violence is warranted.  From a Trump supporter, it’s fascism.  From the Left, it’s a valiant resistance to a power that…well, shit…hasn’t done ANYTHING yet.

It’s just like the LG-BLT community.  Trump has probably always supported gay marriage and had come out during the REPUBLICAN primary saying he’d let Caitlin Jenner use whatever bathroom she wanted.  And yet, HE is the greatest threat the LG-BLT community has ever faced.  Bear in mind, Hillary once said that marriage being between a man and woman was a BEDROCK principle of the human race (in 2008).

Trump referred to himself 3 times in his speech, the American people 23 times, and “We” 48 times.

Compare THAT to ANY Obama speech.

‘Nuff Said.

Obama, Manning, and Wiki-Leaks

Posted by Troy on 17th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

And now the Left has no room to talk about Russia hacking the election.

Since November, all I’ve heard is Russia hacking the election.  Russia hacking the election and giving it to Wiki-leaks.

Now, today, Obama commutes the sentence for Manning from 35 years down to 7.  What did Manning do?  Well, the most favorable position you could take is that he was guilty of espionage.  At worst, he was guilty of treason.

So, back in the day, there was a sizable portion of the Left that called for leniency for Manning.  After Bradley decided to become Chelsea, that increased.

But…then the hacking of 2016 happened!  Hillary lost!!!!!  Wiki-leaks baaaaaad.

Let’s compare the two:

Bradley Manning stole military documents and gave it to a foreign entity to be distributed to anyone with an internet connection–including our enemies.  Personally, I believe that he was a weak-willed person (as further proven by his sex-change operation) that was taken advantage of by Julian Assange, particular after Snowden’s fame as a whistle blower.  Even if the military did something wrong, Manning needed to take that to the press, not a foreign entity.  Of course, no one trusts the media anymore, but back then, that may have been acceptable.  These leaks gave away classified information and put agents at risk.  This, further, put American interests at risk.

Russia hacked the DNC.  What did they find out?  Hillary is out of touch.  Well…we knew that.  She disdains Joe Six-pack.  Well…we knew that.  She’s entitled.  Her team thinks low of Americans.  She sells influence.  At every turn, we knew or suspected everything that “was leaked.”  And they were all TRUE.  They could not deny it.

Manning’s betrayal revealed state secrets to our enemies.  The DNC hacks merely confirmed what many suspected.

So…what’s Obama’s logic?  Hacking personal emails is tantamount to undermining our very democracy, but giving away state secrets is no big deal?  He has lost any credibility on the leaks.

Welcome back Bob Beckel!

Posted by Troy on 16th January 2017 in Current Events, Entertainment

I hate Juan Williams.  There.  I said it.  In fact, there have been times I’ve avoided “The Five” just because I didn’t want to listen to him–and that’s factoring in the fact that I am secretly in love with Kimberly Guilfoyle and could stare at her all night..  Juan always comes across as a condescending ass.  While Bob Beckel may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, he comes across as likable, if sometimes a bit of a buffoon, but I’ll take a likable buffoon over a condescending ass any day of the week when it comes to a show that’s meant mostly for entertainment value.  While his welcome back episodes was a little rough (the chemistry has not quite returned), I am glad that they have finally replaced Juan Williams.

Obama’s farewell address…and I laughed and laughed

Posted by Troy on 10th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

When a vanquished enemy is throwing shade, how sweet it is to remember that they are in retreat and laugh at their self-aggrandizement.

I listen to him rail against authoritarianism, demanding that people accept propaganda, betraying the constitution, eroding the trust in institutions, demonizing the other side, money in politics, and other matters and I laugh as I cry out to the television “That is all you!”

He had way more money than McCain.  Didn’t Obama say that Presidential Candidates should use public funding only?  Guess that only applies when the Republican had more money.  Didn’t Hillary outspend Trump two to one?

When Obama won, he told Republicans to sit down and shut up.  He won.  Elections have consequences, and he would do as he want.  While his own hubris created the Tea Party and saw a steady erosion in Democrat Representatives and Senators and governors and state legislatures, Obama turned to his phone and pen to write his own laws (many flat overturned in 9 to 0 decisions in the Supreme Court).  If you denied him, you were a racist.  If you didn’t see things his way, you were a clinger or a science denier, or just a moron.

If you voted for Trump, it was clear you hated everyone that wasn’t rich and white and male and straight.

He goes and and on about how we should be one people while at every turn demonizing half, splintering us into as many groups as possible.  His concept of compromise is the Right should give the Left everything they want at all turns regardless of who is in power while the Left should obstruct every possible thing of the Right on a matter of principal.

As I watch the most two-faced mothafuka I’ve ever seen give his final little speech, it would be easy to be angry or upset at his half-veiled swipes, at his strokin’ his own ego, at his promise to go into the lobbying business post-”retirement.”  But instead, I just laugh.

You should always laugh at a good joke, and that’s all his Presidency was.

Ha.

In defense and condemnation of Meryl Streep

Posted by Troy on 9th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

Trump called her overrated.  Alright…she is not overrated.  She is up there with Johnny Depp in the realm of good actors.  She becomes the part.

However, I condemn pretty much everything she said.  Hell, I handled my own father’s death with more reserve than her feigned performance.  That is to say, she is either acting, or she is horribly weak as a human being.  Unfortunately, she is such a good actress, I’m not sure which one it is.  Let’s take a look at her comments…

Basically, if your not a foreigner or an outsider, you’re not interesting.  In fact, without these things, people would be reduced to watching football or mixed martial arts.  So, of course, the condescension is ample.  Basically, you are either part of the hoity-toity, or your part of the knuckle dragging masses that watch football and drink Bud Light while kissing their own cousins.

Then she goes on and on about how the press and Hollywood has the obligation to protect against tyranny.

Hell, I wish they had had this point of view during the last 8 years while Democrats developed “anti-free speech” zones, pressed for censorship of the internet, did away with the filibuster (which royally bit them in the ass now that someone they actually disapprove of has come into power), and bypassed Congress by use of executive orders (this President has had more 9 to 0 opinions AGAINST him than anyone else in Supreme Court history).  Need I remind people of the celebrity video of celebrities pledging to be “a servant to Obama.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51kAw4OTlA0

This a bunch of morons pledging not to be a servant to the Constitution.  Not to the country.  Not to some value or ideal.  NOPE!  To a MAN!

And this is the same group of people that expects us to take them seriously when they talk about cult of personality, a “strong man,” or a dictatorship?

Based on the last eight years, it became apparent that the Left LOVES a dictator.  They just want a dictator that they approve of.  At every executive overreach, at every example of legislating from the bench, they cheered.  Now that someone is in power they don’t like…they worry about executive overreach.  They worry about a strong central government.  They worry about the Supreme Court.  They worry about every single thing which should show them why they should not want an all powerful central government with an all powerful executive at the head.  Maybe…just maybe…the Founders had a good idea about state sovereignty.  Maybe the Federal government shouldn’t be involved with everything and the states should be allowed to live how they wanna live.  That way, Georgia could be Georgia.  California could be California.  New York could be New York.  And we will all get along.

Russia Interferring with Our Elections

Posted by Troy on 5th January 2017 in Current Events, Political

Trapper and Obama keep saying Russia has interfered with our elections.  I find it very telling that he doesn’t point out that Mexico and the UN also interfered with our elections.  Let’s examine their claim.

1 – Let’s assume that Russia did hack our election.  First of all, there is evidence that the Russians tried to hack both the Democrats and the Republicans.  The Republicans were smart and didn’t fall for it, and the Democrats were dumb as shit and did.  That’s pretty telling right there.

2 – All of the hacks were basically true statements of what Hillary and the DNC think of Americans.

3 – Nothing was said about Mexico, the UN, and other countries that wanted Hillary to win and Trump to lose.

4 – Nothing is said about us interfering with Russia’s election or Israel’s election.

5 – Nothing is mentioned of the news media and Hollywood interfering with our elections, and they did so with false statements regarding Trump and misconstruing what he said.

So… if you tell the truth about how a candidate really feels about you… that’s interfering.  If you lie… that’s okay.

Again, it all comes down to what side you are on.  No Liberal had any trouble with all the leaks, unfounded allegations, and leaks.  If someone had Trump’s tax return, they would have been heralded as heroes.

Lame.  Just sooooooo lame.  #sorelosers!
