Fear the Walking Dead

Posted by Troy on 27th September 2015 in Entertainment

Having enjoyed the Walking Dead, I gave Fear the Walking dead a try.

The first issue I had with the show is my general feeling about how unlikely it would be for zombies to win against humans.  Particularly worldwide.  Islands would be fine.  Mountain folk would be fine.  People in the tundra would be fine.  People in the desert would be fine.  Even people in rural areas would stand a good chance due to having plenty of space and guns.

The second issue I had was “Who am I rooting for here?”  My choices seemed to be a self-righteous blonde, a stupid teacher, a spoiled brat teen, a love-lorn teen, a druggie, and a few other unworthy characters.  I mean…what do I care if all of them got wiped out?

Tonight was the final straw though. The show has been portraying the military as being indifferent to the life of civilians.  This has increased to an outright desire to kill said civilians.  This makes no logical sense, and it just an eyeball-rolling, knee-jerk anti-establishment intellectualism.

Rare for me, I will not be watching the finale to a show that I’ve been watching.  I’m annoyed at their impugning the military.

The GOP Debate Results

Posted by Troy on 24th September 2015 in Current Events, Political

I’m a little behind schedule, but here’s my breakdown:

Trump continues to mold himself as a populist movement.  I feel like his greatest strength is his desire to stand his ground and never back down.  He will face enormous challenges.  The main challenge is that the media is against him, and the establishment hates him.  As such, he’s just kinda isolated.  Still he has an ability to tap into the anger a lot of voters have and voice the opinions that the “cool kids” have deemed uncool but that the majority believes is right.  That can be a very powerful combo.

Carson is the epitome of reasonable, rational thought.  Nothing seems to really faze him, and he just continues to come across as calm and collected.  I like him a great deal.

Fiorina has been doing a very good job.  She is showing that she has detailed plans, and she is very quick on her feet.  She’s sharp, and I like her.

I love Rand Paul’s love of the Constitution and his Constitutional view of the Presidency and the Federal Government.  Unfortunately, he just doesn’t have the force of personality to garner support.  I hope that logical thinkers will follow him.

Cruz is okay.  However, he gives lip service to the Constitution while ignoring parts that he doesn’t agree with.  Still, he’s the second most Constitutional candidate.

Rubio is a false candidate.  He is pro-NSA, which I will never get behind.  Basically, being for NSA is being anti-Constitutional.  Any right that you can ignore is not a right.  It’s a privilege.  He is also pro-Amnesty which will give the right to vote to millions who came here illegally, do not respect our laws, and will vote for Democrats as part of the permanent underclass.

Jeb Bush is a Bush and is pretty much a Democrat.  Why the hell would ANYONE vote for this guy?

Christie is a slimy bastard.  He does not believe in the Constitution.  He believes your rights are subject to the government’s whims.  He would be another emperor.  He is unworthy of the position.

The rest are boring and are beneath my notice.

Muslim Clock Maker – It’s a bomb!!!!!

Posted by Troy on 23rd September 2015 in Current Events

A 14 year old Muslim student brings a “homemade clock” to school.  To be funny, I suppose, he made the clock look like a bomb.  The police come in and arrest him and check out the clock…which was not a bomb.  And everyone went crazy.

If I tried to board a plane and cracked a joke about “Oh, must be my bomb,” no one would bat an eye if I got tackled, strip-searched, etc.  Why?  Because I kinda brought it on myself by being a dumbass.  Don’t tell me, “He’s just a kid.”  Fourteen is plenty old enough to know how to build a bomb (check out terrorist training camps).  It’s also old enough to know that you’re being an ass.

It’s also important to note that this kid’s parents are Islamic political activists.  Also, the kid had to try multiple times to get in trouble for the “bomb.”  As such, they WANTED him to get in trouble.  This was the equivalent of intentionally spilling coffee in your lap so you could sue.

To everyone that’s upset by the cops’ treatment of this boy or thinks that it was racist…here’s a question.  If a white kid came to school with something that looked like a bomb, would you want that looked at?  Here’s another question: if you were the principal, wouldn’t you want the cops to come verify that it’s not a bomb, etc?  Of course you would.  Why?  Because if it WERE a bomb, and hundreds of school kids died, how would you like to be the one out there saying:

“Well, I heard there was a student with something that looked like a bomb, but I figured he was just joking around because he’s just a kid.  Besides, he was a Muslim, and I didn’t want to look like a bigot.”

How well do you think that would play at the next PTA meeting?

On Obama, Islam, Trump, and Carson

Posted by Troy on 22nd September 2015 in Current Events, Political

Trump and Carson have fallen off the cliff.  One dared not correct someone who called Obama a Muslim, and the other said he wouldn’t advocate for a Muslim for President.

I think Trump had an excellent retort:  Do you think Obama would defend me if someone said something bad about me?

Hell no.  Of course not.  But I have another issue…so…is being a Muslim a bad thing?  Sounds that way.  If being Muslim isn’t bad, then why would Trump be inclined to correct the man?  The only way this criticism holds any water is if being Muslim is a bad thing.  If the man had said, “Obama is a child molester,” then maybe Trump should say something to correct a maliciously false critique.  Otherwise, why should Trump involve himself?  By now, one believes that Obama is or is not a Muslim.  Nothing will convince that man otherwise.

Then there’s Carson.  He said he wouldn’t advocate a Muslim for President because Islam is inconsistent with American values.  Everyone went nuts.  So…what is consistent with American values?  A woman having to provide 6 eye witnesses to prove rape?  Stoning for adultery?  Stoning for being gay?  Fill in the damn blank on anything related to women?  Their pretty narrow view on Freedom of Speech?  Shall we continue?  Not to mention the fact that we keep getting heavily involved in the Middle East.  Let’s just put that out there.  Their religion requires that they advance Shariah Law.  And their religion also allows them to lie in order to advance Shariah.  Honestly…based on these two facts, how could anyone in their right mind ever vote for a Muslim for President unless they, themselves, were Muslim?  You can’t even judge such an individual on their words or actions because their religion gives one over-riding rule: Advance Shariah by any means possible.  Could it not be that they acted and spoke of tolerance and of Americana just to gain such a position of power to fundamentally transform America?  Just saying.

Ya know what?  The Democrats should run a Muslim.  That’ll show us.  The first Muslim President.  But I guess they prefer words over actions.  Words are cheap and easy, aren’t they?

Carson said he would not advocate a Muslim President.  He didn’t even say that he would ask others NOT to support a Muslim President.  He never said anything regarding if a Muslim COULD run.  Of COURSE a Muslim is ELIGIBLE to run.  Carson just thinks that a Muslim for President would be a mistake.  Anyone being intellectually honest would agree.  Anyone that disagrees is either Muslim themselves or so wrapped up in their worship of tolerance they are not being logical or honest with themselves…or are ignorant on the Koran.  I guess that’s another possibility.  Pick it up and give it a read.  It’ll give you a new perspective on Islam other than what the media is advocating.
